    • Zack Littell allows two in no-decision vs. Twins
Zack Littell allowed two runs in five innings while not qualify for a decision Thursday against the Twins.

Advice: Littell bounced back nicely from his disaster against Atlanta (two innings, six earned runs), but wasn’t able to get enough run support to factor in the decision. The right-hander scattered five hits and two walks while fanning five. One of the runs was a homer by the red-hot Royce Lewis, and the other a double off the bat of Kyle Farmer. Littell has mostly been solid as a starting option, and he’s scheduled to work again next week against the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm

    • Emmanuel Clase gets 22nd save against Mariners
Emmanuel Clase hurled a scoreless ninth to pick up a save against the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: It’s already the 22nd save of the season for Clase, and the hunt for a 50-save season is certainly on. The right-hander didn’t allow a hit and procured a strikeout, and the scoreless frame puts his ERA at a dazzling 0.76. A spectacular season for Clase, and there’s every reason to believe he can keep it going through the second half of the campaign. Rotoworld Today, 12:39 pm
    • Paul Sewald hurls scoreless frame for save
Paul Sewald allowed a hit and picked up a strikeout in a scoreless inning to get a save against the Nationals on Thursday.

Advice: Sewald has been sensational since returning from the injured list, and the scoreless inning lowers his ERA to a miniscule 0.71. The right-hander also has collected eight saves and will continue to operate as the Diamondbacks closer throughout 2024. Rotoworld Today, 12:31 pm
    • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Rangers outrighted Tinoco to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Advice: Tinoco has the option to decline the assignment and become a free agent if he wants. If he does choose to stick around, he'll provide relief depth at Round Rock. Rotowire.com Today, 11:59 am
    • Optioned to Memphis
The Cardinals optioned Roycroft to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday

Advice: Roycroft has done a decent job in the majors since being called back up to St. Louis on June 4, allowing just one run in 8.2 innings. However, he'll be sent back down to Triple-A in favor of Adam Kloffenstein, as the Cardinals look to keep their bullpen stocked with fresh arms. Rotowire.com Today, 11:08 am

    • Dan Altavilla lands on IL with oblique strain
Royals placed RHP Dan Altavilla on the 15-day injured list with a right oblique strain.

Advice: Altavilla was struggling with the Royals, posting a 14.73 ERA in 3 2/3 innings this season. There is no timeline for his return, but he does have a career 4.03 ERA in 119 MLB appearances so he might still prove useful for the Royals later in the season. Steven Cruz was called up in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Today, 11:07 am

    • To IL with strained oblique
The Royals placed Altavilla on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right oblique strain, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The reliever suffered the injury during an appearance in Wednesday's game against the Athletics. It's not clear how long Altavilla might be sidelined, but oblique strains often result in IL stays of beyond 15 days. Rotowire.com Today, 10:42 am

    • Recalled from Triple-A
The Royals recalled Cruz from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Advice: With Dan Altavilla (oblique) headed for the injured list, the Royals will bring up Cruz to help replenish their bullpen depth. The 25-year-old has spent all season with Omaha, posting a 4.50 ERA and 1.42 WHIP through 26 innings. He allowed seven earned runs through 12.2 frames during his time in the majors last season and will likely only be used during low-leverage situations. Rotowire.com Today, 10:39 am

    • Next steps identified
Muller (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: The left-hander began a throwing program June 6, and he appears to be progressing through it without setbacks. If all goes well with Sunday's bullpen session, Muller is slated to head out for a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas at some point during the following week. Rotowire.com Today, 9:52 am
