    • Austin Riley stays hot with another homer
Austin Riley went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and two walks on Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Riley’s OPS has climbed from .618 to .744 in exactly one week. That is truly remarkable. It already feels like his putrid April and May will be a distant memory soon. If there was any question, the buy-low window on Riley has slammed shut. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • Carlos Rodón touched up by Braves
Carlos Rodón allowed seven earned runs on Friday against the Braves. They had 11 hits while Rodón struck out just three and walked two.

Advice: Rodón was never comfortable in this one. New York is in the midst of a massive heat wave and Rodón spent most of his time rubbing the ball for a better grip and wiping sweat from his face. His slider was all over the place, which could potentially be explained by poor grip. Rodón will look to right the ship next week in Toronto. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Bryan Reynolds homers in loss
Bryan Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk on Friday against the Rays.

Advice: The home run was Reynolds’ 11th of the season and landed all the way in the Allegheny River beyond the concourse in right-center field. The homer also extended his hitting streak to 18 games. He’s become one of the most dependable yet unspectacular outfield bats in baseball. Rotoworld Today, 6:31 pm

    • Will Smith absent from Dodgers lineup on Friday
Will Smith is absent from the Dodgers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s opener of their two-game Freeway Series against the Angels in Los Angeles.

Advice: It’s a bit surprising to see the 29-year-old slugger sitting against a left-hander, but there hasn’t been any word yet about Smith dealing with any sort of injury. He did start three of the four games against the Rockies in Colorado, so perhaps it’s just a day of rest. Austin Barnes will do the catching for the Dodgers on Friday night and will bat ninth against Patrick Sandoval and the Angels. Rotoworld Today, 3:37 pm

    • Getting breather
Ruiz is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Colorado.

Advice: Ruiz will be spelled by Drew Millas on Friday after catching four straight games. Ruiz is slashing .198/.231/.289 with four homers in 199 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 3:18 pm

    • Riding pine Friday
Smith is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Angels.

Advice: Smith has caught four of the Dodgers' last five games and will give way to Austin Barnes behind the plate Friday. Smith has just two hits in his last 23 at-bats; however, the hits were a two-RBI triple and a solo homer. Rotowire.com Today, 3:09 pm

    • Tallies three hits Thursday
Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double and a run Thursday in a 5-3 win against Colorado.

Advice: Hernandez departed in the seventh inning of Wednesday's matchup between the clubs, but manager Dave Roberts indicated afterward that the early exit was simply for rest reasons, and the outfielder's inclusion in Thursday's lineup seems to validate that claim. Hernandez certainly didn't appear bothered by any issues in the finale of the four-game set, as he recorded his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign. He's been swinging a hot bat over the past two weeks, slashing .321/.387/.732 with six homers, 16 RBI, 10 runs and a stolen base over his past 14 games. Rotowire.com Today, 9:40 am
    • Homers in third straight game
Gelof went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Gelof temporarily tied the score with his two-run shot off Seth Lugo in the seventh inning. After a slow start to the season, the second baseman has perked up with the bat of late, going deep in each of his past three contests and driving in seven runs across his past four games. Gelof's strikeout woes have continued over that span, though, as he's fanned eight times to push his strikeout rate on the season up to an ugly 34.7 percent. Rotowire.com Today, 12:04 am

    • Hits 11th homer
Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo home run against Colorado in Thursday's 5-3 victory.

Advice: Smith hit one of three Los Angeles long balls Thursday, bashing a 451-foot solo shot to center field in the fourth inning. It was the catcher's 11th home run of the campaign, which leads NL backstops. Across the majors, only three catchers have more homers than Smith this season, and only two (Adley Rutschman and William Contreras) have topped Smith's 45 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:29 pm
