    • Accounts for lone run in loss
Westburg went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Westburg opened the scoring in the second inning, but that was the extent of the Orioles' run production. The team had just four hits, and Westburg struck out in his other three at-bats. He's been solid lately, going 15-for-53 (.283) over his last 13 contests with nine extra-base hits in that span, though he's also struck out 15 times. The infielder has a .277/.331/.506 slash line with 12 homers, 44 RBI, 39 runs scored and six steals through 70 contests. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

    • Strong again in win
Blanco (8-2) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Saturday.

Advice: Blanco wasn't as dominant as he was with seven no-hit innings last weekend versus the Tigers, but it was still an impressive showing. He's allowed just two runs over 20 innings across his last three starts after giving up four runs in each of his two outings before this stretch of dominance. The right-hander continues to thrive in his first full year as a starter, pitching to a 2.34 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 79:35 K:BB through 84.2 innings over 14 starts. Blanco is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Mets. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Gray tosses six shutout innings, gets third win
Jon Gray threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Rangers’ 6-0 victory over the Royals on Saturday.

Advice: Gray gave up two hits, walked none and struck out three. It was a necessary bounce back start for Gray after he allowed nine earned runs in his last start against the Mets. It was just his third win of the season and first since May 15th. He lowered his ERA to 3.03 on the season. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next weekend. • Jordan Westburg homers in loss to Astros
Jordan Westburg connected on a solo homer in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Westburg’s homer accounted for the only run of the game for the Orioles; a solo shot in the second off Ronel Blanco. The 25-year-old has put together a solid first half with 12 homers, 36 RBI and .837 OPS over his 267 at-bats. Rotoworld Today, 3:31 pm

    • Ronel Blanco holds O’s to one run over seven
Ronel Blanco allowed one run in seven innings to get a win Saturday over the Orioles.

Advice: Blanco gave up a homer to Jordan Westburg in the second inning, but it was smooth sailing for the right-hander from that point on. He did put three runners on via walk, but he was able to strike out four and limited the loaded Baltimore lineup at an impressive level. Blanco has been one of the biggest bright spots for the Astros in 2024, and he’ll take a 2.34 ERA into a scheduled start against the Mets next weekend. Rotoworld Today, 3:29 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) hasn’t resumed baseball activity
MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart reports Kyle Tucker (shin) has yet to resume baseball activities.

Advice: Tucker is still walking with a limp and has yet to resume any baseball activities at this juncture. There was some optimism earlier this week that he was getting close, but clearly is still going to need some extra time to recover. There isn’t a definitive timeline for his return to Houston’s lineup at this point. He’s been out since early June recovering from a shin contusion. It’s fair to wonder if he’s dealing with something more serious like a hairline fracture at this point. There should be some clarity on his status at some point in the near future. • Stuck with loss in quality start
Crawford (3-7) took the loss Friday as the Red Sox fell 5-2 to the Reds, giving up five runs (three earned) on five hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Some defensive misadventures by Boston softened the blow to the right-hander's ERA and allowed him to escape with his third straight quality start and eighth of the season, but it's hard to ignore the issues Crawford has had of late keeping the ball in the park. He's been tagged for multiple homers in three straight outings and served up at least one in seven straight, stumbling to a 5.36 ERA over the latter stretch despite a 1.19 WHIP and 43:12 K:BB through 40.1 innings. Crawford will try to turn things around in his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 6:46 am

    • Homers in loss
Wong went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 loss to Cincinnati.

Advice: Wong belted a solo home run in the second inning, his sixth of the season, and extended a hitting streak to 11 games (15-for-39). He's batting .335/.397/.471 for the season. There's no dramatic changes in his contact metrics to explain his breakout, and the BABIP (.395) warning signs are still there, but Wong has managed to avoid regression so far. • Homers twice in win
Candelario went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Friday's 5-2 win over Boston.

Advice: Candelario had been battling tendinitis in the back of his right knee, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, but he was ready to go Friday with the help of the Reds' training staff. The knee didn't cool off Candelario's scoring bat. He homered in his first two plate appearances -- the second two-HR game this month -- and is batting .347/.351/.736 over 18 games in June.
