    • Completes seven innings in loss
Fedde (5-2) took the loss to the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Fedde allowed a two-run home run to Carson Kelly but was otherwise excellent, retiring the final 14 batters he faced. Despite the loss, this was Fedde's third consecutive quality start, and he has now yielded fewer than three earned runs in 12 of 16 outings this year. The right-hander owns a 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB over 94.1 innings in what has to this point been the best season of his MLB career. He lines up to face the Dodgers next week. • Jason Foley closes out White Sox on Friday night
Jason Foley recorded the final four outs against the White Sox on Friday night, protecting a one-run advantage to earn his 13th save of the season.

Advice: Foley came on with the tying run on base with two outs in the eighth inning and got Andrew Vaughn to ground out to second base. He then returned for the ninth where he plunked Paul DeJong with one out in the inning to bring the go-ahead run to the plate again. Andrew Benintendi then lined out to center field and DeJong forgot how many outs there were, easily getting doubled off of first base to end the ballgame. On the season, Foley now sports a 2.67 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 22/9 K/BB ratio (26 1/3 innings) to go along with 13 saves in 15 opportunities. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:56 pm

    • Erick Fedde pitches well in loss to Tigers Friday
Erick Fedde pitched well in a losing effort against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing just two runs on five hits over seven strong innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander punched out three batters on the evening while issuing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on one mighty swing of the bat by Carson Kelly on a 2-1 sweeper in the second inning. He settled in beautifully after that and retired the final 14 batters that he faced in the contest, but the White Sox were unable to provide the requisite support. Fedde got 12 whiffs on 92 pitches on the night — six on his sinker — while registering a CSW of 25 percent. He’ll carry a 5-2 record, 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and an 86/24 K/BB ratio (94 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s showdown against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:56 pm

    • Starting Saturday
Gray will start Saturday's game against the Royals, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Gray was scheduled to throw Monday at Milwaukee on seven days rest, but he'll have his start bumped up to Saturday to give Max Scherzer (thumb/back) extra rest. Gray had surrendered two or fewer runs in 12 consecutive starts before being rocked for nine runs in three innings against the Mets on Monday. He yielded two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts across seven innings in a start against the Royals on May 5. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:21 pm

    • Jeimer Candelario (tendinitis) returns to lineup
Jeimer Candelario (tendinitis) returned to the Reds’ starting lineup on Friday night.

Advice: Candelario was pulled from Tuesday’s game due to general fatigue and tendinitis and then sat out Wednesday’s game as a precautionary measure. He’s feeling much improved after a couple of days off though and is back in there as the Reds’ designated hitter on Friday night. He’ll bat third against Kutter Crawford and the Red Sox. • Back in lineup
Candelario is batting third and the designated hitter for Friday's game against Boston.

Advice: Candelario had been battling unspecified tendinitis the past few days and missed the Reds' most recent game. However, he'll be back in action Friday, claiming DH duties. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:24 pm

    • Smacks 10th homer
Ramos went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 6-5 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: The outfielder has been on a power surge with four homers over his last seven games, and he's added 11 RBI in that span. Ramos leads the Giants with 10 long balls this season, and every other player on the team with at least five homers has played in a minimum of 50 games compared to his 39. Ramos has added a .307/.382/.553 slash line with 35 RBI, 17 runs scored, one stolen base and seven doubles across 170 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:18 am

    • Cranks homer Thursday
Santander went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a walk in Thursday's 17-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Santander has gone 8-for-25 (.320) with five homers and 11 RBI over his last six games. The outfielder is up to 19 homers on the year, with 10 of them coming in June. He's slashing .230/.304/.502 on the year while adding 48 RBI, 42 runs scored and 13 doubles over 70 contests. Santander has finished below a .260 batting average in each of the previous three seasons, so it's not unusual for him to make most of his impact with power. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:11 pm

    • Heliot Ramos stays hot with 10th homer in loss
Heliot Ramos blasted a three-run homer on Thursday in the Giants’ loss to the Cardinals at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

Advice: Ramos put San Francisco on the board with a no-doubter to right field in the third inning off Cardinals starter Andre Pallante for his 10th round-tripper of the season. The 24-year-old post-hype prospect has put together a pretty remarkable breakout campaign so far, batting .307 (46-for-150) with 10 homers, 35 RBI and one steal through 39 games. He’s homered eight times in 18 games since June 1. Unreal. Rotoworld Thursday, 8:05 pm
