    • Taillon posts quality start Thursday
Jameson Taillon allowed three runs in six innings and got the no-decision against the Brewers on Thursday.

Advice: Taillon allowed six hits, one walk and struck out four. He’s rebounded nicely from the 4.84 ERA he had last year. Taillon now has a 2.84 ERA in eight starts for the Cubs this season. This was only the third time this year that he was able to complete at least six innings, though. The 32-year-old right-hander is set to face the White Sox at home next week.

    • Improves to 6-0 in May
Gil (7-1) picked up the win Wednesday over the Angels, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out nine over eight frames.

Advice: Gil continued his fantastic start to the campaign Wednesday, allowing just one hit over the first six innings before surrendering a solo home run to Logan O'Hoppe in the seventh. The right-hander produced 15 whiffs on the night while posting at least eight strikeouts for the third consecutive outing. Gil has now logged six quality starts in a row and improved to 6-0 in May after the win over Los Angeles. Over that stretch, he carries a ridiculous 0.70 ERA to go along with a 44:12 K:BB. Wednesday also marked his longest outing of the season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:10 am

    • Luis Gil dominant again in win over Angels
Luis Gil held the Angels to one run with nine strikeouts over eight innings to earn the win on Wednesday.

Advice: Gil was outstanding once again, holding the Angels to one run over eight frames. He allowed just two hits and two walks, giving up a solo homer to Logan O’Hoppe in the seventh inning. He struck out nine. It was the fifth consecutive start for Gil with at least six innings and no more than one run allowed. The 25-year-old right-hander will take an excellent 1.99 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and a 79/31 K/BB ratio across 63 1/3 innings into a start against the Twins in New York on Tuesday. • Blanks Mets for fifth win
Stone (5-2) picked up the win in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets, scattering three hits over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

Advice: The 25-year-old righty delivered his best performance of the season, firing 63 of 87 pitches for strikes in his sixth quality start of the year. Stone's seven Ks were a season high, and he'll take a 3.16 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41:17 K:BB through 57 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Rockies. • Gavin Stone twirls seven-inning gem to beat Mets
Gavin Stone recorded seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: Stone drew the starting assignment for the nightcap of Tuesday’s twin bill at Citi Field and authored one of his best outings of the year. He scattered three hits, didn’t hand out a free pass, and established a new season-high mark with seven strikeouts. The 25-year-old righty has allowed three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts this season and will bring a respectable 3.16 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 41/17 K/BB ratio across 57 innings (10 starts) into a road matchup next Wednesday against the Pirates. • Dodgers-Mets game postponed
Stone and the Dodgers won't play Monday against the Mets after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: The two teams will now play a doubleheader Tuesday. Stone and Tylor Megill had been slated to take the ball Monday but now will have their starts pushed back a day. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:39 am

    • Throws seven high-quality innings
Webb did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run (none earned) on three hits and a walk over seven innings against the Mets. He struck out eight.

Advice: The lone unearned run Webb allowed was set up by his own error, but he was lights-out otherwise with a season-high eight strikeouts and left the game in line for the win. The outing dropped Webb's ERA to 2.74 with a 1.26 WHIP across 72.1 innings. His next scheduled start is slated for next weekend when the Giants host the Yankees. Rotowire.com May 26, 5:29 pm

    • Logan Webb strikes out eight in no-decision
Logan Webb struck out eight Mets across seven innings on Sunday. He allowed three hits and walked just one.

Advice: Webb was in complete control in this one despite allowing a good bit of hard contact. The Mets swung and missed 11 times at his sinker alone and his eight strikeouts marked a season high. A win seemed all but cinched before Tyler Rogers imploded in the ninth inning. Webb has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in the early going. Rotoworld May 26, 1:12 pm

    • Just shy of quality start
Taillon allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Taillon fell one out shy of a quality start, though he exited the game at 105 pitches (68 strikes) after giving up an RBI double to Masyn Winn in the sixth inning. This was an improvement on Taillon's last two starts -- he didn't complete five innings in either of those games. The right-hander is at a 2.58 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 25:11 K:BB through 38.1 innings over seven starts this season, but his 4.69 FIP and .238 BABIP suggest he's enjoyed good luck so far, especially earlier in the season. He's projected for a road start versus the Brewers in his next outing. Rotowire.com May 25, 8:20 pm
