    • Shuts out Texas for third win
Williams (3-0) picked up the win Saturday, shutting out the Rangers over five innings while allowing five hits and four walks. He struck out three.

Advice: Williams ran into trouble in the second and fifth innings, allowing the first three batters to reach base in both frames, but the right-hander was able to work his way out of each jam unscathed. He's now won his first three decisions to open the season and hasn't allowed more than one run in either of his last three starts. Williams did, however, issue a season-high four walks in Wednesday's win and now carries a 4:6 K:BB over his last two outings. Rotowire.com Today, 3:34 am
    • Trevor Williams tosses five shutout in win
Trevor Williams tossed five shutout innings with three strikeouts in a win over the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Williams’ strong start to the season continued on Wednesday as he was able to keep a good Rangers lineup scoreless across five frames. He worked around plenty of traffic on the bases, giving up five hits and four walks while striking out three. The 32-year-old right-hander will take a 2.27 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 22/12 K/BB ratio across 31 2/3 innings into a home start against the Orioles next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
    • Demoted to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Uribe to Triple-A Nashville after Thursday's win against the Rays, Adam McCalvy of MLB.comreports.

Advice: It's been an eventful two days for Uribe, who is now headed to the minors after being handed a six-game suspension for his role in Tuesday's bench-clearing brawl versus the Rays. The right-hander appealed the ban and allowed a run on a hit and two walks over one inning Wednesday, and he now has a 6.91 ERA and 14:12 K:BB across 14.1 frames this season. The 22-year-old will likely be tasked with honing his command down at Triple-A, and the demotion will give Milwaukee some bullpen security with Freddy Peralta also facing a suspension, as Uribe won't begin serving his ban until he's back on the major-league roster. • Brewers option Abner Uribe to Triple-A
Brewers optioned RHP Abner Uribe to Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Uribe opened the season as the Brewers’ closer, but wound up posting a troublesome 6.91 ERA and 1.88 WHIP over 14 1/3 innings. He was also a major player in Tuesday’s scuffle with Jose Siri and the Rays, resulting in a six-game suspension that he’s appealing. He’ll try to get back on track at Triple-A. • Abner Uribe suspended six games
Abner Uribe was suspended six games after a brawl with Jose Siri on Tuesday.

Advice: Uribe will reportedly appeal the six-game suspension. The 23-year-old swung at Jose Siri near first base in the eighth inning after the two players exchanged words. Uribe had to be held back by his own teammates and he was ultimately brought down to the dugout and ejected from the game. “There were some words shared that didn’t have much to do with the game that probably shouldn’t have been shared there in that exchange,” Uribe said. • Appealing six-game suspension
Uribe received a six-game suspension Wednesday for his role in a benches-clearing brawl Tuesday in the Brewers' 8-2 win over the Rays, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. He has appealed the suspension and will be available for Wednesday's series finale versus Tampa Bay.

Advice: In addition to Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy receiving a two-game ban, three players - Uribe, Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta (five games) and Rays outfielder Jose Siri (three games) - were suspended for their roles in Tuesday's brawl. Uribe's punishment is the most severe since he's considered to have incited the incident in the eighth inning, when he threw a punch at Siri after Siri grounded out. Uribe was ejected from the game, but he'll appeal the six-game suspension with the hope of getting the banishment reduced. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:20 am
    • Sitting out Wednesday
Jeffers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the White Sox.

Advice: Jeffers had started each of the last seven contests (four at designated hitter and three at catcher) but will get some rest Wednesday. Christian Vazquez will catch for starting pitcher Bailey Ober as the Twins attempt to win their 10th straight game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:15 am
    • Grabs first win
Scott (1-4) earned the win Tuesday over Colorado, allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk in one inning. He struck out two.

Advice: Scott allowed the free runner to score in the top of the 10th inning on a two-out Ryan McMahon double before ultimately striking out Hunter Goodman to end the frame. The Marlins would then score twice in the bottom half, completing the comeback victory and giving Scott his first win this year. The left-hander hasn't allowed an earned run in his last six appearances -- he's 4-for-5 in save chances this year with a 2.84 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 12:13 K:BB across 12.2 innings. • Blanks reds over five innings
Darvish (1-1) grabbed a win over the Reds on Tuesday, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits in the outing. He struck three and did not walk a batter.

Advice: Darvish was finally able to pick up his first win of the season and help the Padres end a five-game losing streak. Tuesday was his first shutout effort since July 29 of last year. He was efficient, needing 70 pitches to get through five while inducing a bunch of weak contact. His strikeout numbers remain low in comparison to his career numbers, as he's now struck out three or fewer batters in three of his six starts so far. Still, Tuesday's outing was exactly what the Padres needed out of him, and he'll take a 3.45 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB into his next outing, which projects to be against the Cubs at the beginning of next week.
