    • Bailey Falter great again across six innings
Bailey Falter pitched a scoreless six innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Friday. He struck out five, walked two, and allowed just two hits.

Advice: Falter just keeps going. 79% of his pitches in this start were either fastballs or sinkers and the Blue Jays were completely helpless, reaching base just four times against him. We keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with Falter, but it hasn’t as the league can’t figure out how to square him up. He will take a sparkling 3.22 ERA into his next start against the vaunted Dodgers. Rotoworld Friday, 8:04 pm

    • Lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Diamondbacks placed Gallen on the 15-day injured list Friday due to a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Gallen was pulled from Thursday's start against the Mets after throwing just six pitches without recording an out. He has been dealing with a right hamstring issue since April 26, and the 28-year-old right-hander will now be on the shelf for an extended period of time after aggravating the injury. It's unclear how long Gallen will be sidelined, but if he misses only the minimum, that would put him in line to return June 15 against the White Sox. In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks recalled right-hander Slade Cecconi from Triple-A Reno. Rotowire.com Friday, 3:10 pm

    • Diamondbacks place Zac Gallen on 15-day IL
Diamondbacks placed RHP Zac Gallen on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Not long after manager Torey Lovullo said he remained hopeful that Gallen would avoid a trip to the injured list, the club officially placed the right-hander on the 15-day IL. It sounds like the Diamondbacks are hopeful that it will be a minimum stay there, but we’ll see how he progresses over the next two weeks. Slade Cecconi was recalled from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Friday, 3:04 pm

    • Diamondbacks hopeful Gallen (hamstring) avoids IL
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters on Friday that he’s hopeful Zac Gallen (hamstring) will avoid a trip to the injured list.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurler left Thursday’s start after just one batter due to a right hamstring strain. He’s still being evaluated and the Diamondbacks are holding out hope that he’ll be able to avoid a trip to the injured list while accepting the fact that it’s still a very real possibility. Be sure to check back prior to Saturday’s game to see if they do decide to make a roster move. Rotoworld Friday, 2:42 pm

    • Zac Gallen leaves start with hamstring strain
Zac Gallen was removed from Thursday’s start against the Mets with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Gallen will presumably head for some additional imaging the determine the severity of the injury and determine how much time he’ll wind up missing. The 28-year-old righty lasted just six pitches into Thursday’s outing at Citi Field before leaving with a trainer. He’s a near-lock to wind up requiring a trip to the injured list and will most likely wind up missing a couple weeks. It’s a tough break for the Diamondbacks, and fantasy managers, since Gallen has been one of the most durable starters in the fantasy landscape over the last few years. • Diagnosed with hamstring strain
Gallen was removed from Thursday's start against the Mets with a right hamstring strain, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Gallen left Thursday's start with trainers after giving up one hit and throwing only six pitches, as he aggravated a hamstring injury that originally popped up April 26. An exact return timeline is unclear, but he'll almost certainly miss at least one start and is likely to end up on the injured list. Rotowire.com Thursday, 5:14 pm

    • Exits Thursday's start
Gallen exited Thursday's start against the Mets with an apparent injury, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.comreports.

Advice: Gallen threw only six pitches and failed to record an out before being pulled from the contest. More information should be available after Thursday's game, though he has battled hamstring tightness a few times this season, most recently on May 18. Rotowire.com Thursday, 4:43 pm

    • Zac Gallen exits with trainer after six pitches
Zac Gallen left Thursday’s start against the Mets with a trainer after just six pitches.

Advice: Not good. The positive news here, if that’s at all possible, is that his abrupt exit doesn’t appear to be arm-related. Gallen was limping slightly, but was able to walk off with a trainer after facing just one batter during Thursday’s series opener against the Mets. There should be an update on his status shortly. • Quality start in no-decision
Taillon didn't factor into the decision Thursday against the Brewers, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: All three of Milwaukee's runs off Taillon came in the third inning, including a pair on three consecutive two-out hits. While the Cubs bullpen couldn't close out a win, it was the third quality start for Taillon this year -- he failed to make it through six innings in his previous three outings, posting a 5.02 ERA in that span. Overall, the 32-year-old right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB through his first eight starts (44.1 innings). Taillon's tentatively slated for a home matchup with the White Sox in his next outing. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:16 pm
