      Nico Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base in a 6-5 win over the Brewers.

      Advice: Hoerner put the Cubs on the board right away, taking Tobias Myers deep for a solo homer to lead off the first inning, his first homer of the season. He added a base hit to lead off the seventh, then stole second for his fifth steal of the season. The 26-year-old second baseman is heating up at the plate, with multiple hits in three of his last four games.       Héctor Neris allowed one run in the ninth inning, holding on for the save against the Brewers on Saturday.

      Advice: It hasn’t come easy for Neris, but he just keeps getting by in the ninth inning. He was summoned with a two-run lead against the Brewers and gave up a run on two hits and a walk before closing it out for his sixth save. Mark Letter Jr. tossed two scoreless innings with three strikeouts before handing it over to Neris. He’ll be someone to watch if Neris struggles to convert saves going forward.       Jameson Taillon tossed six shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a win over the Brewers on Saturday.

      Advice: Taillon continued his excellent start to the season on Saturday, shutting down the Brewers over six innings. He scattered two hits and two walks, striking out a season-high seven batters. The 32-year-old right-hander has now allowed just three runs over 24 innings for a 1.13 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and a 16/5 K/BB ratio. He’ll take on the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Friday.       Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI, two walks and two stolen bases Friday in a 4-3 extra-innings victory versus Atlanta.

      Advice: Ohtani's first theft came in the third inning, and it led to Los Angeles' first run, as Will Smith followed with a two-out RBI single. It looked like Ohtani would be picked off in the eighth frame, but Matt Olson mishandled the throw to first base, allowing the Japanese superstar to make to second base safely. Ohtani later came up with a huge hit in the bottom of the 10th, stroking a one-out single to center field to plate the tying run after Atlanta had scored in the top of the frame. Ohtani continues to put up big numbers for the Dodgers and for his fantasy managers, as he's slashing .336/.405/.612 with seven homers, 20 RBI, 26 runs and seven steals (in seven attempts) through 153 plate appearances.       Civale escaped with a no-decision Friday in Tampa Bay's 10-8 win over the Mets, coughing up seven runs on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: New York tagged him for three runs in the second inning and four more in the fifth, but Civale still left the mound with the Rays ahead 9-7. The right-hander tossed 52 of 77 pitches for strikes as he allowed five or more runs for the third straight outing. The rough patch has sent his ratios soaring, and Civale will carry a 6.14 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB through 36.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the White Sox.       Aaron Civale was knocked around in a no-decision against the Mets on Friday evening, giving up seven runs on six hits across his 4 2/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Civale punched out five batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. The Mets got to him for three runs in the second inning on a three-run blast off the bat of Brett Baty. He then settled in and was staked to a 9-3 lead heading into the fifth inning. That’s when the wheels came off the tracks. There, he allowed four more runs and was chased from the game, just one out shy of qualifying for a victory. It was already anticipated that Snell would need more than the minimum 15 days on the injured list with his Grade 2 adductor strain, so a mid-May return is still the best-case scenario.
