    • Carlos Estévez perfect in seventh straight outing
Carlos Estévez threw a scoreless ninth with a two-run lead for a save Monday against the Brewers.

Advice: It was Estévez’s seventh consecutive perfect inning, a stretch that’s lowered his ERA from 5.06 to 3.52. He still doesn’t seem like a great bet going forward, but he certainly has it working now. Rotoworld Monday, 10:01 pm
    • Solid effort ends in no-decision
Gray allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over 7.2 innings in Monday's 7-6 win versus the Marlins. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.

Advice: Gray pitched into the eighth inning for the first time this season and left the game up 4-1, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead. The four strikeouts were a season low for Gray as he worked fast and efficiently, needing only 84 pitches to record 23 outs. The veteran's ERA now sits at 2.95 with a 1.02 WHIP through 13 starts. • Sonny Gray goes 7 2/3 in no-decision vs. Marlins
Sonny Gray allowed two runs over 7 2/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

Advice: Gray was long gone before this one was decided in a 12-inning marathon, but he managed to complete seven frames for the second consecutive start. He struck out four and only issued two walks. The 34-year-old righty has been excellent this season in his St. Louis debut, allowing three earned runs or fewer in 10 of his 13 starts so far. He’ll bring a solid 2.95 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 95/22 K/BB ratio across 76 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Giants. Rotoworld Monday, 7:27 pm

    • Picks up fourth win
Sanchez (4-3) went seven innings and allowed two runs (one earned) to earn the win Monday against the Padres. He gave up six hits, one walk, and struck out five.

Advice: Sanchez was impressive Monday against San Diego, as he allowed only one extra-base hit. It was the eighth start this season in which he's allowed one earned run or fewer. The lefty matched his season high for innings pitched and lowered his ERA to 2.91 in the process. The 27-year-old is tentatively scheduled to pitch again this weekend versus the Diamondbacks. • Cristopher Sánchez goes seven in win over Padres
Cristopher Sánchez was charged with two runs (one earned) over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Padres.

Advice: Sánchez limited San Diego to just six hits over seven frames as their lone runs of the contest came on a fifth-inning ground out from Jake Cronenworth and a run-scoring double by Donovan Solano in the seventh inning. He struck out five and only issued one walk, getting plenty of run support from Philadelphia’s offense to cruise to his fourth win of the year. He’ll bring a strong 2.91 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 66/24 K/BB ratio across 77 1/3 innings (14 starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Monday, 6:32 pm
    • Tosses eight scoreless frames
Gilbert (4-4) earned the win Sunday, allowing two hits and no walks with nine strikeouts over eight scoreless innings against Texas.

Advice: Gilbert generated 21 whiffs Sunday, punching out eight batters for the fourth time this season while blanking the Rangers. The 27-year-old has now gone deeper than six innings in three straight starts and has walked merely one batter across his last 33.2 innings. He's tied with Corbin Burnes and Tanner Houck for the league lead with 12 quality starts and paces MLB with 98.1 innings pitched. Gilbert is lined up for a start in pitcher-friendly LoanDepot Park next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:34 pm

    • Earns league-leading 24th save
Helsley allowed two walks during a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save Sunday against the Cubs. He struck out one.

Advice: Helsley tossed just 11 of 23 pitches for strikes and started behind in the count to four of five batters he faced but still managed to finish off the game for the Cardinals when a drive to the gap by pinch-hitter Patrick Wisdom with two on was snagged by Brendan Donovan to preserve the win. It was another shaky outing for Helsley, who has struggled recently with his command, walking four over his last two appearances. Despite the recent trouble, he maintains an ERA of 2.53 and has converted each of his last 24 save opportunities, last blowing a save March 30 during his first appearance of the season. • Jordan Montgomery fans seven in win over White Sox
Jordan Montgomery looked sharp in Sunday’s victory over the White Sox, allowing just an unearned run on four hits over his five frames.

Advice: Montgomery piled up seven strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing a pair of free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI groundout off the bat of Andrew Vaughn in the third inning — after a throwing error by Montgomery had allowed him to advance earlier in the inning. The 31-year-old southpaw got a whopping 18 swings and misses on 84 pitches in the game — 10 of those on his changeup alone — while posting a strong CSW of 36 percent. Now 5-4 on the season, he’ll carry a 6.00 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and a 39/21 K/BB ratio (57 innings) into a tough matchup against the Phillies in Philadelphia on Saturday. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:16 pm
    • Fans seven in win
Montgomery (5-4) picked up the win Sunday against the White Sox, allowing one unearned run on four hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Sunday's start was Montgomery's best as a Diamondback, as he tied his season high in strikeouts while yielding no earned runs for the first time this year. The lone run scored while Montgomery was on the mound came in the third inning, when Danny Mendick came around to score after reaching on a throwing error by Montgomery. Montgomery has had a rollercoaster 2024 season, surrendering three or fewer runs in seven of his 11 appearances but giving up six or more runs three times. Overall, the 31-year-old owns a 6.00 ERA with a 39:21 K:BB across 57.0 innings. He's on track to face the Phillies next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:43 pm
