      Corbin Burnes allowed one earned run and four hits over seven innings while picking up the win on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Burnes was solid on the night, allowing just one run on four hits, with his lone blemish coming on a solo blast from George Springer. Manager Brandon Hyde paid a brief visit to the mound following the Springer home run, but Burnes got the nod to finish out the inning in what was his 10th quality start of the season.       Andrew Abbott allowed three runs in six innings and picked up the win in the Reds’ 13-3 victory over the Rockies on Monday.

      Advice: The win was Abbott’s fourth of the season. He gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. Abbott now has a quality start in three of his last four starts and a win in three of his last five starts. His ERA is now 3.39 on the season, but his xFIP is significantly higher at 4.53. Abbott has a pedestrian 18 percent strikeout percentage and has benefited from an 84 percent left on base percentage that’s likely to catch up to him at some point.       Abbott (4-5) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Monday, striking out six and earning a win over Colorado.

      Advice: Abbott was charged with three runs through three frames but settled in to produce his fifth quality start of the year. Three of those quality starts have come over his last four appearances, and he matched his season best by generating 13 whiffs Monday. He had struck out just 11 batters over his previous four outings but improved his season K:BB to 52:18 with Monday's strong performance.       Advice: Singer looks to be in the clear on the health front after an unspecified illness left him feeling lethargic and unable to play catch Wednesday before the Royals opted to scratch him from his scheduled start Thursday against the Twins, according to ESPN.com. He apparently demonstrated enough progress over the weekend and shouldn't face any major workload restrictions when he takes the hill Wednesday.       Kikuchi (2-5) took the loss Saturday as the Blue Jays fell 8-1 to the Pirates, coughing up six runs (five earned) on nine hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Pittsburgh jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, and while Kikuchi was able to avoid an early exit, he still wound up putting extra pressure on a Toronto bullpen that had already been taxed by a 14-inning game Friday. The southpaw left the mound after 89 pitches (61 strikes), and he's been tagged for 10 earned runs in 8.1 frames over his last two starts -- a far cry from the prior six weeks, during which he delivered six quality starts in eight outings with a 2.61 ERA.       Advice: The score was close early on, but a four-run fourth inning for Seattle put Miller on cruise control. The right-hander racked up 13 whiffs en route to his nine punchouts, which tied his second-highest total of the season.       Yusei Kikuchi was hit hard in Saturday afternoon’s loss to the Pirates, giving up six runs (five earned) on nine hits over his 5 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: The 32-year-old southpaw struck out four batters on the afternoon while issuing one base on balls. The Pirates jumped on him for three runs in the opening inning, including a two-run blast off the bat of Ke’Bryan Hayes. Kikuchi then settled in until they scratched out two more in the fifth and another while chasing him in the sixth inning. He generated 12 swings and misses on 89 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 28 percent.
