      Singer came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: The right-hander delivered his sixth quality start of the season on 92 pitches (63 strikes) and completed seven innings for the first time since his first outing of the year, March 31 against the Twins. Despite the impressive performance, Singer left the mound in line for his fifth loss before the Royals' offense woke up in the bottom of the eighth inning.     • Brady Singer settles for no-decision vs. Marlins
      Brady Singer allowed one run over 7 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Marlins.

      Advice: Singer surrendered a run-scoring single to Nick Fortes in the second inning, which represented the lone tally against him in this one. Unfortunately, Kansas City’s offense didn’t respond with any run support until after his exit from the contest when they put up five runs in the eighth inning. The 27-year-old righty finished with five strikeouts and only issued one walk in his longest outing of the year so far. He’ll bring a strong 3.12 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 85/26 K/BB ratio across 89 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a home matchup on Tuesday against the Rays. Rotoworld Today, 2:23 pm
       
    • Finally nabs first win
      Puk (1-8) was credited with the win Sunday over the Mariners, striking out two batters in two perfect innings of relief.

      Advice: The left-hander took over from Kyle Tyler to begin the fifth inning with the Marlins ahead 6-2, and Puk needed only 20 pitches (14 strikes) to rack up six outs and become the pitcher of record. He appears to be regaining his prior form now that he's no longer in the rotation -- through 10.2 innings in June, Puk sports a 3.38 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB. Should closer Tanner Scott be dealt by the trade deadline, Puk would be a candidate for saves given his experience in the role last year. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:03 am

    • Pitches two frames versus Cleveland
      Kikuchi (4-7) picked up a loss after he pitched two innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three batters in Sunday's 6-5 defeat to Cleveland.

      Advice: Kikuchi was once again ineffective on the mound Sunday, giving up one run in the first inning before the game went into a rain delay after he allowed another run to score and loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the third. Zach Pop replaced Kikuchi on the mound following the delay, allowing two of the inherited runners to score. Kikuchi has been in quite the rut for a while now, allowing 20 earned runs over 25.1 innings in his last six outings. The rough stretch has seen his ERA balloon from 2.64 to 4.00 on the year over 83.1 innings in 16 starts.       Miller dropped to 6-6 on the season in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins, allowing six earned runs on six hits and one walk over four innings while striking out three.

      Advice: Miami jumped on Miller early with a four-run first inning. He gave up another run in the second before Jesus Sanchez scored the Marlins' final run with a solo shot in the third. Miller has allowed 15 earned runs over five starts this month, resulting in a 4.88 ERA in that span. Two of those outings have accounted for 13 of the runs.     • Yusei Kikuchi struggles before rain delay
      Yusei Kikuchi allowed four runs in two-plus innings on Sunday against the Guardians. He walked one, struck out three, and allowed eight hits in a loss.

      Advice: The rain came at a great time for Kikuchi who’d loaded the bases with no outs in the third inning. He’s given up at least four earned runs in three of his last six starts and seen his ERA balloon from 2.64 on May 21st to 4.00 after this game. Oddly enough, he threw his fastest pitch of the season in this one at 98.3 MPH. Kikuchi is, was, and will forever be an odd bird. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:33 pm
       
    • Max Fried keeps Yankees bats at bay
      Max Fried allowed one run on six hits in six innings in a win over the Yankees on Sunday.

      Advice: It wasn’t a dominant outing for the left-hander, but he allowed just one extra-base hit all day and was able to pitch his way out of any trouble that he found himself in. He induced just seven whiffs on 39 swings for an 18 percent whiff rate and 26 percent CSW, but that’s a pretty solid day against a good Yankees lineup.     • Picks up seventh win
      Fried improved to 7-3 on the season in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Yankees, striking out four while allowing one run on six hits and no walks over six innings.

      Advice: Fried kept the Yankees off the board until a solo run crossed in the sixth on an Anthony Volpe double. Three of the six hits Fried allowed came during the sixth, but a timely double play ended the inning and kept Fried in line for his seventh win. Fried has now turned in eight quality starts through 15 outing, and in seventh of those starts, he's gone at least six innings while allowing no more than one earned run.       Bryce Miller allowed six earned runs in four innings on Sunday against the Marlins. He struck out three and walked one in a loss.

      Advice: This felt like a smash-spot for Miller and instead the lowly Marlins smashed him. They hammered his usually excellent fastball for an average exit velocity of 101.6 MPH on five balls in play. Yes, an average exit velocity of 101.6 MPH. Jesús Sánchez also hammered a splitter that sat at the top of the zone an estimated 429 feet. His command was poor, he only forced four swings and misses, and got crushed. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:23 pm
