    • Garrett Crochet starting Tuesday against Rangers
Garrett Crochet will make his second-half debut on Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: It’ll be Chris Flexen, Jonathan Cannon and Drew Thorpe taking the ball during a three-game set against the Royals before Erick Fedde and Crochet draw their first second-half starts against the Rangers. The 25-year-old southpaw, who excelled earlier this week in the Midsummer Classic, figures to be one of the biggest names potentially on the move at the trade deadline. This could wind up being his final outing in a White Sox uniform. Rotoworld Today, 1:20 pm

    • Garrett Crochet shines in All-Star Game appearance
Garrett Crochet hurled a scoreless inning during Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game at Globe Life Field.

Advice: Crochet, arguably the hottest name in trade rumors at the moment, one-out single from Alec Bohm to work a scoreless fourth inning. He got a pretty strikeout of Teoscar Hernández in the frame as well. The 25-year-old left-hander, who has paired an astronomical 35 percent strikeout rate with a microscopic 5 percent walk rate, could be a difference-maker in the playoff race, depending on where he winds up in a few weeks. • Logs fifth steal
Kwan went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Rays.

Advice: This was Kwan's first steal since June 25 and his fifth of the campaign on nine attempts. Given he missed a month with a hamstring issue, it's not a surprise he's been a bit more cautious on the basepaths. The outfielder is batting .283 in July and now has a .352/.407/.512 slash line with nine home runs, 27 RBI, 55 runs scored, 14 doubles and two triples through 308 plate appearances this year. • Takes tough-luck loss
Blanco (9-4) took the loss Sunday against the Rangers, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts across six innings.

Advice: All the damage against Blanco came in the first inning, when Josh Smith launched a two-run home run. However, the Astros managed to score only one run until the ninth inning, sticking Blanco with the loss despite logging a quality start. The 30-year-old has been outstanding this season, owning a 2.56 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP over 109.0 innings at the All-Star break. Before 2024, Blanco had a career 4.78 ERA in 58.1 innings and had primarily been utilized out of the bullpen, making him one of baseball's biggest breakouts so far. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:22 pm

    • Returning for Minnesota series
Wheeler (back) played catch in the outfield Sunday and is expected to make his next start for the Phillies on July 22 or 23 versus the Twins in Minnesota, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: A bout with back spasms caused Wheeler to miss out on a start in the Phillies' final game before the All-Star break Sunday versus the Athletics, and it'll also prevent from making his second appearance in the Midsummer Classic on Tuesday. However, the back issue wasn't significant enough to force Wheeler to the injured list, and if he continues to remain free of setbacks in his throwing sessions over the next week, he should be ready to take the hill July 22 or 23 without any restrictions. With a 10-4 record, 2.70 ERA and 0.99 WHIP through 116.2 innings over his 16 outings on the season, Wheeler had been a leading candidate to start for the National League in the All-Star Game, but those duties will now fall to Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes. • Ronel Blanco tough luck loser against Rangers
Ronel Blanco allowed two hits and two earned runs across six innings on Sunday against the Rangers. He struck out five and walked two in defeat.

Advice: Blanco made precisely one mistake in this game: a 3-0 fastball to Josh Smith that got a little bit too much plate and left the yard. Otherwise, the Rangers had just one more hit and zero hard hit balls off Blanco. His slider forced an astounding 12 swings-and-misses as his primary pitch and he heads into the All-Star break with 11 quality starts, a 2.96 ERA, and 0.97 WHIP. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:51 pm

    • Goes three innings in rehab start
Kershaw (shoulder) tossed three scoreless and hitless innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, allowing one walk and striking out five batters.

Advice: Kershaw was impressive in the outing, allowing just one baserunner while throwing 38 pitches before tossing another 12 pitches in the bullpen after the start, according to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register. The veteran lefty made his second minor-league rehab appearance, and his first since June 19. Kershaw also went three innings in his initial rehab outing but experienced soreness in a subsequent bullpen session and was temporarily shut down from throwing. Per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that he received positive reports on Kershaw's outing, and the 36-year-old is set to cover 4-to-5 innings in another rehab appearance with Oklahoma City on Friday. If that goes well, Kershaw could return from the 60-day injured list the following week. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:33 am

    • Kershaw (shoulder) strikes out five in rehab start
Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) struck out five batters over three scoreless frames Saturday in a rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Kershaw walked one batter and didn’t give up a hit. He threw 23 out of 38 pitches for strikes and struck out the side in the second inning, so the Dodgers have to be thrilled at his progress from shoulder surgery. He’s slated to make another rehab start next Friday, and it’s possible he could be ready to rejoin the Dodgers from there. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:29 am

    • Heading to bench Sunday
Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: Since he completed his 80-game suspension and rejoined the Reds on June 27, Marte had started in each of the club's ensuing 16 games, slashing .177/.212/.258 with a home run and two stolen bases over 66 plate appearances. He'll get a breather for the Reds' final game before the All-Star break, but despite his lackluster production since his reinstatement to the roster, Marte should be locked into an everyday role heading into the second half. Santiago Espinal will spell Marte at third base Sunday. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:30 am
