• Showing power in regular role
Singleton went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Mariners.

Advice: Singleton has started six straight games since Jose Abreu was optioned to the minors and has tallied all three of his home runs for the season in that span. He's gone 6-for-20 overall across those six contests while striking out at just an 8.7 percent clip. With Abreu out of the picture and Joey Loperfido getting his playing time in the outfield, Singleton appears to have the first base job to himself for the foreseeable future. • Report: Royals reached out to ask for Arraez
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the Royals contacted the Marlins last week to discuss trading for Luis Arraez before the infielder was dealt to the Padres

Advice: Rosenthal was quick to note that those talks “never advanced beyond the preliminary stage"; however, it’s interesting that the Royals even made the phone call because it tells us that the team is looking to capitalize on their fast start to the season which sees them just 2.5 games behind the Guardians in the AL Central. However, another interesting aspect of this is where the Royals may be looking to upgrade. Michael Massey has been pretty good at second base since coming off the IL and Vinnie Pasquantino is locked in at first base, so the Royals must have felt that Arraez could fill the DH spot, which means either Nelson Velazquez or Hunter Renfroe could be on notice in the midst of a slow start to the season. • Three straight multi-hit games
Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI on Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Diaz is hitting just .235 across his 150 plate appearances of the season, though his results have begun to turn around of late. Sunday marked his third straight start with two hits, and he also has a double, four RBI and a run scored in that span. Diaz has only two barrels in 114 batted ball events to begin the season, though he should continue to see hits fall in at an increased clip as he's maintained a 15.3 percent strikeout rate -- in line with his career norm. • Expected to return Monday
Burger (oblique) joined the Marlins in Los Angeles and is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Advice: On the shelf since April 15 with a left intercostal strain, Burger looks to have checked out fine after completing the final phase of his recovery process this past week, when he joined Triple-A Jacksonville for a rehab assignment. He played in three games for Jacksonville, going 3-for-11 with two runs, two walks and one RBI in addition to playing nine innings at first base and 18 innings at third base. Once activated, Burger should immediately settle back in as the Marlins' everyday option at the hot corner, resulting in Vidal Brujan and Emmanuel Rivera losing out on playing time. • Clubs three-run homer in win
Harper went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Advice: Harper had the big hit of the evening, tagging Logan Webb for a three-run shot to center in the third to put the Phillies up 4-1. It was his first extra-base knock since April 29 and his third long ball since returning from the paternity list April 25. Though he hasn't been hitting a ton lately, Harper has still been a tough out at the plate, as Sunday was the first game he hadn't been walked since April 26. Over his last 10 games, Harper is slashing .219/.444/.531 with seven RBI, seven runs and a 13:10 BB:K in 45 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:57 am

  • Belts grand slam
Santander went 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Santander already had a nice multi-hit performance in the bag before capping his day off with a ninth-inning grand slam in the blowout victory. It was his fifth long ball of the year and first since April 17, snapping a 15-game drought. He posted a .505 OPS over his previous 13 games since his last multi-hit effort April 20. Santander is now slashing .218/.295/.427 with 23 RBI and 15 extra-base hits through 33 appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:10 pm
  • Bryce Harper powers Phillies past Giants on Sunday
Bryce Harper connected on a three-run homer in the third inning on Sunday night, powering the Phillies to a 5-4 victory over the visiting Giants.

Advice: No Trea Turner, no problem for the National League’s hottest team as they won their fifth consecutive game and ninth of their last 10. The 31-year-old superstar tagged Giants’ starter Logan Webb for his 410-foot (107.0 mph EV) two-run blast, increasing the Phillies’ early advantage to 4-1. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the evening. For the season, he’s now hitting .234/.368/.468 with seven homers, 21 RBI and one stolen base through his first 31 ballgames. • First long ball of 2024
Raley went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 5-4 win over Houston.

Advice: Raley led off the sixth inning and delivered a solo home run -- his first in 62 plate appearances this year -- to give the Mariners a 3-0 lead. Through 25 games as a backup outfielder and first baseman, Raley is batting .230 with six runs scored and four RBI while striking out at a 29.7 percent clip. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:28 pm

  • Launches grand slam
Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam during Sunday's 11-8 loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Guerrero's grand slam in the second inning off MacKenzie Gore was his fourth of the season and first in 22 games. It was also the first time he homered this season with men on base as he had collected just 11 RBI and hit just .231 coming into the contest. Despite the power outage, Guerrero is currently in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, batting 11-for-32 (.344) with three doubles, a homer, five RBI and three runs scored during that stretch.
