    Anthony Rizzo clubbed his seventh home run of the season and drove in a pair on Friday night, propelling the Yankees to a 2-0 victory over the Rays in Tampa Bay.

    Advice: Rizzo broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with an RBI single off of Taj Bradley. He tacked on an insurance run in the ninth with his 392-foot (103.8 mph EV) off of Shawn Armstrong. That would be the extent of the Tigers’ offense in the contest., spoiling yet another terrific pitching performance from their starting rotation.   • Andy Ibáñez swipes base in loss to Astros
    Andy Ibáñez went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a stolen base on Friday evening as the Tigers fell to the visiting Astros.

    Advice: The known lefty-masher collected both of his hits off of Astros’ southpaw Framber Valdez. He singled in the third inning and raced around to score on Matt Vierling’s two-run double. He also added a single in the fifth inning and swiped second base to get himself into scoring position, but the Tigers were unable to cash him in.     The Angels activated Goodrum on Friday.

    Advice: Goodrum had been with the Rays' Triple-A affiliate when he was DFA'd and later claimed by the Angels, but he will return to the majors as replacement depth for Ehire Adrianza, (back) who landed on the injured list Friday. Goodrum has experience at every position other than catcher, though he will likely return to the minors once Los Angeles' heavily-depleted infield unit begins returning from the IL.     The Angels placed Adrianza on the 10-day injured list Friday with back spasms, retroactive to Thursday.

    Advice: Adrianza reported having problems with his lower back Friday, and the issue is apparently severe enough to warrant a trip to the injured list.
