  • Idle Friday
O'Hoppe isn't in the Angels' lineup Friday versus the Royals.

  • Matt Vierling plates two runs in loss to Astros
Matt Vierling doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Tigers and their pathetic offense over the Astros.

Advice: Vierling opened the scoring in the contest with his two-run double off of Framber Valdez in the third inning. That would be the extent of the Tigers’ offense in the contest., spoiling yet another terrific pitching performance from their starting rotation. Vierling finished the evening 1-for-4 and is now hitting .280/.304/.439 with three homers and 15 RBI. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

  • Reports to big-league club
The Angels activated Goodrum on Friday.

Advice: Goodrum had been with the Rays' Triple-A affiliate when he was DFA'd and later claimed by the Angels, but he will return to the majors as replacement depth for Ehire Adrianza, (back) who landed on the injured list Friday. Goodrum has experience at every position other than catcher, though he will likely return to the minors once Los Angeles' heavily-depleted infield unit begins returning from the IL. • Lands on injured list
The Angels placed Adrianza on the 10-day injured list Friday with back spasms, retroactive to Thursday.

Niko Goodrum will join the active roster to take Adrianza's spot after being claimed off waivers from Tampa Bay on Thursday. Rotowire.com Today, 5:18 pm

  • Angels place Ehire Adrianza (back) on 10-day IL
Angels placed INF Ehire Adrianza on the 10-day injured list with back spasms.

Advice: The Angels already have Anthony Rendon, Luis Rengifo and Brandon Drury on the injured list, so why not place another infielder there for good measure. Luckily, Niko Goodrum arrived on Friday and will join the active roster to replace Adrianza. Rotoworld Today, 5:16 pm
