    Advice: Matos enjoyed one of the best games of his career, driving in at least a run with each of his hits. He added an RBI on a groundout in the seventh inning as well. The 22-year-old is hitting .333 (7-for-21) with 11 RBI and three extra-base hits over his first six contests this season.     Advice: Chapman has gone 9-for-32 (.281) over his last eight games as he finally seems to be finding a rhythm at the plate. He got the Giants on the board with an RBI double in the first inning and continued to be involved in the team's subsequent rallies. The third baseman is slashing .218/.273/.362 with five home runs, 10 doubles, 20 RBI, 25 runs scored and four steals through 187 plate appearances this season. While his rate stats are well below his usual standard, the recent improvements are a reason for optimism, especially as he continues to hit in the heart of the order for a lineup devastated by injuries.     Advice: Hjelle was in the game when the Giants rallied ahead in the fifth inning, and they kept the lead the rest of the way. The right-hander has been decent in May, allowing two runs on 11 hits with a 14:0 K:BB over 10 innings across his last seven appearances. He's at a 2.81 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB through 16 innings this season as a multi-inning relief option for the Giants.     Black allowed four runs on six hits and struck out two without walking a batter over three innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Friday.

    Advice: Black was tagged for three runs in the first inning and gave up a solo home run to Jordan Beck in the second. This was Black's shortest of three major-league starts so far, likely due to the poor first run through the lineup. He's now at a 7.71 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 8:5 K:BB over 11.2 innings. The 24-year-old may have a chance to gain traction in the Giants' rotation while Keaton Winn (forearm) is on the injured list, though it's also possible Black gives way to Blake Snell (thigh) next week given the former's middling results so far for the Giants.     Cole Ragans blanked the A’s for seven innings, allowing just two hits, in the Royals’ 6-2 win Friday.

    Mitch Spence allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings against the Royals in his first big-league start Friday.

    Advice: Spence allowed five hits, walked one and struck out four. The Rule 5 pick definitely helped his chances of making more starts with his showing.   • Michael Massey goes 3-for-4, homers versus A’s
    Michael Massey finished 3-for-4 and hit a two-run homer versus the A’s on Friday.

    Advice: Massey lifted his OPS from .633 to .708 tonight. That he’s walked just once in 85 plate appearances isn’t great, but his strikeout rate is down and his exit velocity numbers are fine.     Brett Harris struck out all three times he was up against the Royals on Friday.

    Advice: Harris hit two homers in his second big-league game on May 4, but he definitely hasn’t done much since: he’s currently at .128//314/.359 in 51 plate appearances.
