• Improves to 4-0
Blanco (4-0) earned the win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Blanco was a bit shaky with his control, as he threw just 62 of 107 pitches for strikes and tied a season high with four free passes. However, he allowed just one extra-base hit -- an Anthony Volpe two-run homer that accounted for both runs against him. Blanco thus improved his perfect record to 4-0 on the season, and he's allowed three or fewer runs in all seven of his starts. He's also recorded five quality starts on the campaign, falling one out shy in each of his two outings during which he hasn't met that mark. Blanco has cemented his place in Houston's rotation with a 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41:20 K:BB through 44.1 innings. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago

  • Demolished in Denver
Winn (3-5) took the loss against Colorado on Thursday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out one batter over 3.2 innings.

Advice: Winn actually carried a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning, but things completely unraveled for him in that frame. The Rockies teed off on the right-hander for six straight hits -- including two doubles, a triple and a homer -- before he was able to record an out, with the damage resulting in six runs. Winn momentarily recovered to retire two batters before Charlie Blackmon ended his outing with another triple. After recording three straight quality starts and victories to end April, Winn has been blown up for 12 runs over 4.1 frames across his past two starts. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago

  • Notches second straight victory
Quantrill (2-3) earned the win over San Francisco on Thursday, allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out five batters over six innings.

Advice: The only run and only extra-base hit Quantrill allowed came on a fourth-inning Michael Conforto solo homer. The right-handed hurler was otherwise in control throughout, as no other baserunner reached third base against him. Quantrill picked up his second straight win, and he has five quality starts over his past six appearances. That gives him some fantasy viability, but given his home park, mediocre strikeout numbers and season 3.94 ERA, he's probably still best reserved for deeper leagues. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

  • Michael Wacha turns in quality start in victory
Michael Wacha picked up a win Thursday after allowing three runs — two earned — in six innings against the Angels.

Advice: Wacha boasted some of his best velocity of the season tonight, helping him achieve the quality start in spite of five walks surrendered. He improved to 2-4 with a 5.15 ERA ahead of his next start on the road against the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 9:45 pm
  • Reid Detmers surrenders six runs in loss
Reid Detmers was tagged for six runs in five innings Thursday in a loss to the Royals.

Advice: Detmers gave up a pair of two-run homers to Dairon Blanco and Vinnie Pasquantino in a four-run third. He wasn’t bad otherwise — he allowed just two other hard-hit balls — but luck wasn’t on his side tonight. He’s lost four straight games after opening up 3-0, and his ERA stands at 4.96. Still, his peripherals are solid, and it would be a bad idea to drop him in mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 9:45 pm

  • Tobias Myers strikes out six in no-decision
Tobias Myers allowed one run over four innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Myers was a bit all over the place in this one as he racked up six strikeouts, issued four walks, and needed 84 pitches (50 strikes) to complete four frames. A third-inning solo shot by Lars Nootbaar represented the lone tally against him, but he wasn’t able to get deep enough into the contest to pick up a win. He’ll bring an inflated 5.29 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 17/9 K/BB ratio across 17 innings (four starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Today, 8:21 pm

  • Sonny Gray coughs up three homers in loss to Brewers
Sonny Gray was torched for six runs over five innings on Thursday in a loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Gray was tagged for a season-high three round-trippers in this one after allowing just one long ball in his previous five starts combined. The dismal outing also snapped a five-start streak in which he allowed two earned runs or fewer to kick off his Cardinals debut. The only positives here were that he struck out six and only issued one walk. He’ll carry a pristine 2.29 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 44/6 K/BB ratio across 35 1/3 innings (six starts) into a favorable road tilt on Tuesday against the Angels. Rotoworld Today, 8:20 pm

  • Michael Kopech collects four-out save on Thursday
Michael Kopech notched a four-out save on Thursday against the Guardians.

Advice: Kopech was called upon to record the final out of the eighth inning after John Brebbia served up back-to-back two-out homers and then came back out to work a scoreless final frame. It was his fourth save of the season and third consecutive scoreless outing since May 4. The 28-year-old former starter boasts a solid 3.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 26/10 K/BB ratio across 19 2/3 innings (17 appearances). Rotoworld Today, 8:04 pm

  • Erick Fedde hurls six scoreless to beat Guardians
Erick Fedde struck out three over six shutout innings on Thursday in a win over the Guardians.

Advice: Fedde scattered six hits over six strong frames and got more than enough run support from Chicago’s lineup to pick up his third win of the year. It was a nice bounce-back effort after walking five batters and allowing five runs his last time out against the Cardinals. He’ll bring a solid 3.00 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 44/14 K/BB ratio across 45 innings (eight starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Nationals. Rotoworld Today, 8:03 pm
