• Michael Kopech collects four-out save on Thursday
Michael Kopech notched a four-out save on Thursday against the Guardians.

Advice: Kopech was called upon to record the final out of the eighth inning after John Brebbia served up back-to-back two-out homers and then came back out to work a scoreless final frame. It was his fourth save of the season and third consecutive scoreless outing since May 4. The 28-year-old former starter boasts a solid 3.66 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 26/10 K/BB ratio across 19 2/3 innings (17 appearances). Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:04 pm

  • Erick Fedde hurls six scoreless to beat Guardians
Erick Fedde struck out three over six shutout innings on Thursday in a win over the Guardians.

Advice: Fedde scattered six hits over six strong frames and got more than enough run support from Chicago’s lineup to pick up his third win of the year. It was a nice bounce-back effort after walking five batters and allowing five runs his last time out against the Cardinals. He’ll bring a solid 3.00 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 44/14 K/BB ratio across 45 innings (eight starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Nationals. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:03 pm

  • Ben Lively goes 5 2/3 frames in loss to White Sox
Ben Lively allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Lively got into trouble right away as Andrew Vaughn, Paul DeJong and Tommy Pham got to him for run-scoring hits in the first two frames, which was more than enough to saddle him with a loss. He struck out two and also issued three walks. The 32-year-old journeyman has been an unexpected bright spot for Cleveland this season, registering a sparkling 2.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 26/9 K/BB ratio across 27 1/3 innings (five starts). He’ll face the defending World Series champion Rangers on Tuesday in his next outing. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:03 pm

  • Ronel Blanco goes 5 2/3 frames to beat Yankees
Ronel Blanco allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a win over the Yankees.

Advice: Blanco generated 13 swinging strikes, and finished with five strikeouts, but also battled control issues throughout this one, handing out four free passes as well. He managed to limit New York’s formidable lineup to just a two-run homer by Anthony Volpe into the middle innings, which was enough to hang on for his fourth win of the year. He’ll carry a sparkling 2.23 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 41/20 K/BB ratio across 44 1/3 innings (seven starts) into an extremely favorable matchup on Tuesday against the Athletics. • Marcus Stroman serves up two homers in loss
Marcus Stroman was tagged for four runs over 5 2/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Stroman coughed up a pair of first-inning homers and also served up a run-scoring single to Jeremy Peña in the fifth inning, which was enough to saddle him with a loss in a low-scoring affair at Yankee Stadium. He struck out five and also issued a pair of walks. He’ll bring a serviceable 3.80 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 40/22 K/BB ratio across 42 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a road matchup on Wednesday against the Twins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:04 pm
  • Struggles with command vs. Arizona
Greene did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Diamondbacks, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Greene's final line ultimately could've looked a lot worse after he issued a season-high five walks. The 24-year-old Greene has given up nine free passes over his last two starts (10.2 innings), though he's managed to hold opponents to just three runs in that span. Overall, he's 1-2 on the season with a 1.24 WHIP and 53:21 K:BB through eight starts (45.1 innings). Greene's currently slated for a rematch with the Diamondbacks on the road in his next outing. • Cal Quantrill pitches well again in win over SF
Cal Quantrill held the Giants to just one run Thursday over six innings while picking up a win for the Rockies.

Advice: Quantrill scattered five hits with three walks, and he struck out five. As seen from the numbers above there was some traffic, but Quantrill was able to make enough key pitches to limit the damage while picking up another victory. That makes back-to-back effective starts for the 29-year-old, as he has given up just one run over his last 13 2/3 innings to lower his ERA to 3.94. The Rockies are going nowhere, but Quantrill will be an intriguing trade target if he keeps this up. His next chance comes Tuesday against the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:32 pm
  • Keaton Winn can’t get out of fourth in loss
Keaton Winn gave up seven runs in 3 2/3 innings Thursday while picking up a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Oof. Winn was fine over the first three innings. He was anything but in the fourth. The Rockies ended up picking up seven off the right-hander, and while he threw 39-of-51 pitches for strikes, he also only picked up one strikeout and didn’t fool the Colorado hitters — particularly in that fourth inning. That’s back-to-back clunkers for Winn, and his ERA has ballooned to 5.63 in the process. It’s really not a good idea to use him next week in a scheduled start against the Dodgers. • Hunter Greene strikes out six, walks five in loss
Hunter Greene surrendered three runs in five innings with six strikeouts in a no-decision Thursday versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Greene allowed four hits, but he also issued five walks with 40-of-84 pitches landing outside of the strike zone. The right-hander had his swing-and-miss stuff, and he was able to work around those free passes with a scoreless second-through-fifth inning. The free passes hurt the WHIP, but this start could have been a lot worse. Greene gets a rematch with Arizona next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:28 pm
