    • Brent Rooker drives in pair in win over Houston
Brent Rooker drove in a pair of runs in a win Saturday over the Astros.

Advice: Rooker gave the A’s a 2-0 lead with a double to scored a pair in the second inning. The 29-year-old slugger has already driven in 34 runs, and he’s currently on a triple-digit pace. Rooker is one of the few Oakland players that carries any sort of fantasy upside for the remainder of 2024. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:38 pm

    • Resting Saturday
Soler isn't in the Giants' lineup Saturday versus the Mets.

Advice: After going 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Friday's victory, Soler will now get his first day off since returning from the injured list May 17. His absence will move Patrick Bailey into the DH spot, allowing Curt Casali to pick up a start behind the plate while batting eighth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:40 am

    • Pops fourth homer
Rengifo went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Rengifo opened the scoring by popping a 413-foot solo shot in the bottom of the first. The switch-hitting Angel has been hot since returning from an illness May 17, hitting .300 (9-for-30) with two homers, three steals, four runs scored and five RBI. Overall, Rengifo is slashing .322/.374/.504 in 132 plate appearances while playing every day at second or third base. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:56 pm

    • Luis Rengifo doubles and homers in loss to CLE
Luis Rengifo doubled and homered in a loss Friday to the Angels.

Advice: Rengifo also singled. The 27-year-old took Logan Allen deep in the first inning, and the three-reach game now has his slash looking healthy at .322/.374/.504. Rengifo has been up-and-down for the majority of his MLB career. Right now he’s on the right side of that. There’s reason to believe it won’t last for much longer, respectfully. • TJ Friedl hopes to take batting practice soon
According to The Enquirer’s Charlie Goldsmith, TJ Friedl (broken thumb) “continues to progress” and hopes to take “batting practice soon.”

Advice: TJ Friedl is back to hitting off flips as he works back from a broken thumb. Once he is able to take batting practice, his next step will likely be live at-bats and a rehab assignment. It’s possible that he could be back around mid-June but it will depend on how his thumb feels while taking live swings. Rotoworld Thursday, 9:15 am

    • Hitting flipped pitches
Friedl (thumb) has progressed to hitting flipped balls in the batting cage and hopes to be cleared to take batting practice soon, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Friedl is making a rapid recovery from a fractured left thumb, an injury he suffered just 11 days ago. If the outfielder is able to take batting practice soon, a brief rehab assignment should follow shortly after. He would appear on track for an early June return from the 10-day injured list. • Corbin Carroll triples, plates two in win Wednesday
Corbin Carroll went 1-for-5 with a triple and two RBI against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Carroll put the Diamondbacks on the board in the fifth inning, hitting a triple off Tyler Glasnow to bring two runs in to score. He then cross home plate on a wild pitch. The 23-year-old outfielder has put together a modest five-game hitting streak. Carroll has struggled mightily to start the season, slashing .191/.275/.282 with two homers, 21 runs scored, 16 RBI, and eight steals across 211 plate appearances. Rotoworld Wednesday, 10:01 pm
    • Drives in three
Soler went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored during Wednesday's 9-5 extra-inning win over the Pirates.

Advice: Soler notched his first three-RBI game of the campaign Wednesday, getting the Giants on the scoreboard with an RBI single in the fifth, plating LaMonte Wade Jr. on a weak groundout to bring the team to within one in the eighth inning and putting San Francisco up 7-5 in the 10th with an RBI single. In five games since returning from a shoulder injury, Soler is 6-for-22 (.273) with four runs scored and five RBI. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:34 pm

    • Jorge Soler drives in three runs as Giants win
Jorge Soler went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs on Wednesday night, propelling the Giants to a 9-5 come-from-behind victory over the Pirates in extra innings.

Advice: Soler got the Giants on the board in the fifth inning with a run-scoring single off of Jared Jones, trimming their deficit to four runs at 5-1. He also plated a run with a ground ball in the eighth inning that made it 5-4. The 32-year-old slugger also added an RBI single in the 10th — extending the Giants’ lead to 7-5.
