    • Hit with no-decision
Stroman came away with a no-decision Friday against the Tigers after giving up one earned run on three hits and five walks while striking out three batters across 5.1 innings.

Advice: Despite the Tigers' ability to reach base regularly against Stroman, a bases-loaded walk from Colt Keith in the sixth inning was the only way Detroit was able to break through on the scoreboard against him. A quiet night from New York's offense also put Stroman at risk of taking his second loss of the season, but a two-run ninth inning allowed the Yankees to steal the victory from Detroit while handing the right-hander a no-decision. Stroman, who has now allowed 10 walks over his past two outings, is tentatively scheduled to start again Thursday against Houston. Rotowire.com Today, 7:35 am
    • Tanner Houck takes third loss versus Twins
Tanner Houck dropped to 3-3 after allowing four runs in six innings Friday against the Twins.

Advice: Houck deserves far better, but the Red Sox have totaled three runs in his three losses to date. His ERA stands at 2.18 after seven turns through the rotation. He’ll get the Nationals next. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:56 pm
    • Tagged with four runs
Houck (3-3) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks over six-plus innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Minnesota.

Advice: Houck gave up just one run through six frames before stumbling in the seventh. He allowed three straight runners to reach base without recording an out and was eventually charged with all three runs. He matched his season high with four runs allowed; in his other five starts this year, Houck has given up just three total runs through 33.2 innings. On top of that, he tied his season low by generating only six swinging strikes. Houck will carry a 2.18 ERA into his next outing, which is lined up to be at home against the Nationals next week. • Marcus Stroman walks five in no-decision Friday
Marcus Stroman struggled with his command in a no-decision against the Tigers on Friday night, allowing one run on three hits and five walks over his 5 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander struck out three batters on the evening. While he allowed plenty of traffic on the basepaths, the only run that scored against him came as Colt Keith worked a bases-loaded walk in the sixth inning. Stroman got just four swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 24 percent. The 33-year-old hurler will carry a 3.41 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 35/20 K/BB ratio (37 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the Astros. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Rangers place Nathan Eovaldi (groin) on 15-day IL
Rangers placed RHP Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain.

Advice: Eovaldi suffered the injury while twirling a gem against the Nationals on Thursday afternoon. The Rangers have not yet commented on how long they expect the 34-year-old right-hander to be sidelined for. Yerry Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to take his place on the roster for the time being. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:42 pm

    • Limited session coming Saturday
Snell (thigh) will throw around 50 pitches Saturday during a bullpen session, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Manager Bob Melvin said if all goes well, the team will make a decision on whether Snell will have a rehab assignment or face hitters in live batting practice next. It was already anticipated that Snell would need more than the minimum 15 days on the injured list with his Grade 2 adductor strain, so a mid-May return is still the best-case scenario. • Put on injured list
Eovaldi was placed on the 15-day injured list on Friday with a strained right groin.

Advice: Eovaldi underwent an MRI on Friday which confirmed a right groin strain. He'll join Max Scherzer (back) on the shelf, while Yerry Rodriguez will join the big-league roster. Eovaldi's next start was scheduled for Tuesday, an opening that could be filled by Jack Leiter, who's currently in Triple-A. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:52 pm

    • MRI scheduled Friday
Eovaldi (groin) will undergo an MRI on Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Eovaldi, who was removed from Thursday's win over the Nationals, will travel with the club to Kansas City for the procedure. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said the team is "being cautious" with the 34-year-old right-hander, whose next turn is due Tuesday. Nothing will be determined until after the MRI, but Bochy indicated Eovaldi might just need some rest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:14 am

    • Takes loss Thursday
Allen (2-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out five batters over 5.2 innings in a loss against Houston on Thursday.

Advice: Allen allowed just one run through five frames, but Jon Singleton launched a two-out, two-run homer against him in the sixth to send him to the showers and put him in line for the loss. The left-handed hurler fell one out shy of his second quality start of the campaign, though he's pitched more than five innings in three of his past four outings. After a promising rookie campaign last year, Allen has fallen back a bit in 2024 with a 5.11 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 31:12 K:BB through 37 frames. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:10 pm
