      Advice: Pasquantino twice gave the Royals a lead, first with a first-inning homer and then with an RBI single in the third, but that was the extent of the team's run production. The first baseman is heating up with three straight multi-hit efforts. He's gone 7-for-15 with four extra-base hits and six RBI in that span after batting just .148 over a 16-game stretch with no multi-hit performances. For the season, Pasquantino is slashing .242/.317/.434 with seven homers, 39 RBI, 27 runs scored, 15 doubles, one triple and no stolen bases through 56 contests.       Advice: Langford’s RBI came in garbage time, as he drove in a pair of runs to make it 7-0 in the ninth inning. Still counts.       Vinnie Pasquantino homered and drove in three runs in a loss for the Royals to the Padres on Saturday.

      Advice: Pasquantino hit a two-run shot off Randy Vasquez in the first inning to give Kansas City a 2-1 lead, and he gave the Royals another lead with an RBI single two innings later. The 26-year-old has driven home 39 runs over KC’s 60 games, and the homer was his seventh. The .242 average leaves a bit to be desired, but Pasquantino is capable of helping in several categories with his left-handed bat, as evidenced by this showing Saturday.       Yoshida (thumb) took live batting practice in Boston on Saturday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

      Advice: Yoshida was able to take another step in his recovery from the strained left thumb that has sidelined him since May 1. The outfielder said Saturday that he is "over the injury and it's a matter of building up," according to Abraham.
