    • Tyler O’Neill drives in two, steals two bases
Tyler O’Neill went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two stolen bases in a 6-5 win over the Marlins on Thursday in 12 innings.

Advice: O’Neill picked up both RBI in extra innings. The first was an infield single to give Boston a 3-2 lead in the 11th, and the next was a double in the 12th that extended the lead for the Red Sox to 6-4. The steals are a bit of a rarity for the outfielder, as they were just the second and third of the season for the 29-year-old. O’Neill certainly has the speed to contribute in that category, so it’s possible he’ll run more in the second half of the campaign. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

    • Framber Valdez gets quality start, win vs. TOR
Framber Valdez allowed three runs over six innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: Valdez gave up nine hits and walked two while striking out four. The overall line isn’t great, but it’s worth pointing out that he gave up all three runs in the first inning before settling down over the final five. He’ll get a chance to make one more start before the All-Star break against the Marlins on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 12:52 pm
    • Launches homer in loss
Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and two walks in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Paredes took Michael Wacha deep in the opening frame for an early 1-0 lead. He and Amed Rosario were the only Rays to get on base multiple times in the game after Paredes drew multiple walks for the first time since May 17. He's now racked up five extra-base hits, reached base a total of eight times and driven in four runs over his last three games. Paredes is enjoying another productive campaign after breaking out last year, slashing .276/.365/.481 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, 33 runs and a 35:57 BB:K in 342 plate appearances. • Day off Thursday
Vaughn is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Cleveland.

Advice: It appears to be a routine day off for Vaughn after making seven straight starts. The White Sox are giving Gavin Sheets a start at first base while Vaughn gets some rest. Rotowire.com Today, 7:20 am

    • Quality start in no-decision
Mikolas came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Pirates, giving up two runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Advice: It was a vintage performance from the right-hander and a strong rebound from a 10-run disaster against the Reds his last time out. Mikolas delivered his 10th quality start of the season on an efficient 87 pitches (61 strikes) but left the mound on the hook for his eighth loss, until the Cards tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth inning. Even with last week's implosion, he sports a respectable 4.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB through 58.2 innings over his last 10 starts. Mikolas will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week against the Nationals. Rotowire.com Today, 5:51 am
    • Homers in third straight game
Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, a walk, three runs and three RBI in a 9-2 victory versus the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Advice: Alvarez was a constant thorn in Toronto's side in the contest. He plated Houston's first run with a third-inning double, added a tiebreaking solo shot in the sixth inning and produced another RBI with a double in the eighth. Alvarez has gone deep in each of his past three contests, batting .545 (6-for-11) with three long balls, eight RBI and six runs over that span. Rotowire.com Today, 12:43 am

    • Isaac Paredes clobbers first inning homer
Isaac Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks on Wednesday against the Royals.

Advice: Paredes started this game by smashing a changeup from Michael Wacha beyond the left field fence. Shockingly he pulled yet another home run right next to the left field foul pole. The long ball was a welcome sight as these past few weeks have felt like his longest cold streak since breaking out with the Rays two years ago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:14 pm

    • Yordan Alvarez with three extra-base hits in win
Yordan Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI, three runs scored, and a walk in the Astros’ 9-2 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Advice: Alvarez came into this game ready for Yusei Kikuchi’s fastball and twice put first pitch fastballs in play, once for a homer, and also worked a long at-bat that wound up in a double also off that same fastball. He also sliced another double late off Bowden Francis to break this game open for Houston. Watching him hit is a marvel. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm

    • Miles Mikolas rebounds Wednesday with quality start
Miles Mikolas struck out four and allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

Advice: Mikolas was long gone before this one was decided in extra innings, but he still managed to get through six frames without any major implosions, unlike his last time out when he was torched for 10 runs (nine earned) over 4 1/3 innings against the Reds. The 35-year-old veteran righty will aim to keep the momentum going on Monday when he faces off against the Nationals in a road matchup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:47 pm
