    • Retreats to bench
Swanson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Swanson will get a chance to rest up for the day game after a night game, with Nico Hoerner moving over from second base to replace him at shortstop. The off day comes while Swanson has gone 3-for-17 with eight strikeouts against one walk over his last five games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:57 am

    • Jackson Holliday resumes mashing at Triple-A
Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 3-for-6 with an RBI on Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday flopped in his first taste of the big leagues as Baltimore continued to challenge him from a development standpoint. However, that shouldn’t diminish fantasy managers’ long-term optimism. The latest multi-hit effort raises his Triple-A slash line to .321/.451/.554 with nine extra-base hits and one steal through 13 contests. He’ll get some extended time in the minors to continue ironing out contact issues and struggles against left-handed pitching, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets another shot in Baltimore. • Belts homer in win
De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a 5-2 victory against the Padres.

Advice: De La Cruz set the Reds on a positive path with his massive 443-foot solo shot to center field in the first inning. The long ball snapped a four game-stretch during which the dynamic young shortstop didn't knock any extra-base hits and went just 1-for-13 at the plate, though he did maintain valuable production with three thefts during that span. De La Cruz has been one of baseball's most impressive performers early in the campaign, slashing .280/.390/.590 with eight home runs, 19 RBI, 26 runs and a league-leading 18 stolen bases through 118 plate appearances. • Swats homer No. 10
Henderson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Monday's 2-0 win over the Yankees.

Advice: The 22-year-old shortstop gave Grayson Rodriguez and the Orioles bullpen all the offense they would need when he took Clarke Schmidt deep in the first inning. Henderson has gone yard four times in the last six games, giving him 10 homers on the season -- tied with Mike Trout for the MLB lead. Henderson sports a .289/.352/.632 slash line with six steals, 23 RBI and 25 runs through 28 contests. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:13 pm

    • Gunnar Henderson homers in win over Yanks
Gunnar Henderson went 1-for-3 with a leadoff home run in Monday’s game against the Yankees.

Advice: Henderson got the O’s on the board early in the first frame with a solo shot that was 112.3 MPH off the bat, making it his hardest hit home run this season. It’s the 22-year-old’s 10th home run and third leadoff home run this season. The reigning AL Rookie of the Year has been even better slashing .289/.352/.632 through 28 games in 2024. • Big day in rout
Henderson went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-0 win over the A's.

Advice: The 22-year-old shortstop capped the scoring on the afternoon by taking JP Sears deep in the seventh inning. The long ball was Henderson's third in the last four games, continuing a blistering stretch that has seen him rack up eight multi-hit performances in his last 12 contests while batting .408 (20-for-49). The surge has boosted Henderson's slash line on the season to .302/.361/.642 with nine homers, six steals, 22 RBI and 23 runs in 106 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:41 pm

The 22-year-old shortstop later took JP Sears deep in the seventh inning for a two-run homer. • Swipes two bags
De La Cruz went 0-for-2 with two walks, stole two bases and scored a run in Cincinnati's loss to Texas on Friday.

Advice: Despite not being able to tally a base hit during Friday's game, De La Cruz was able to make his presence felt by drawing a walk in the first inning and eventually stealing home to score Cincinnati's first and only run of the game. He walked again and stole second base in the fifth inning, giving him an MLB-best 17 thefts on the season. Along with his exceptional baserunning, the 22-year-old infielder has been outstanding at the plate, slashing .299/.419/.621 with seven homers and 18 RBI through his first 105 plate appearances. • Sent back to Triple-A
The Orioles optioned Holliday to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Advice: The top prospect made his big-league debut April 10 in Boston to much fanfare, but he looked entirely overmatched at the plate in his first couple weeks of MLB action. Holliday went 2-for-34 with two walks, five runs and 18 strikeouts in 10 games, so the Orioles opted to return him to Norfolk. The 20-year-old could rejoin Baltimore for another look later in the season, but for now he'll head back to Triple-A, where he posted a 1.077 OPS in 56 plate appearances to start the year.
