    • Earns second save
Santana allowed one hit in one scoreless inning to earn the save during Sunday's 5-2 win over the Tigers. He struck out two.

Advice: Santana tossed his sixth-consecutive scoreless outing and was credited with his second save when the game was called after eight innings due to rain. Had the game completed a full nine innings, it is likely that the Yankees' regular closer Clay Holmes would have earned the nod despite having thrown 15 pitches to close out Saturday's contest. • Blown save, loss versus Texas
McArthur (1-1) blew a save and picked up the loss after he pitched two innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning defeat to the Rangers.

Advice: McArthur entered the game with the Royals up 2-1 in the top of the ninth inning, giving up a game-tying solo home run to Jonah Heim with one out in the inning. He later returned for the top of the 10th frame, allowing the inherited runner to score on an RBI single by Nathaniel Lowe. The blown save was McArthur's second in nine total save opportunities this season and he currently possesses a 2.87 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 18 strikeouts over 15.2 innings in 13 appearances this season. • Steven Kwan (hamstring) heading to injured list
Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports that the Guardians plan to place Steven Kwan (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list prior to Monday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Top prospect Kyle Manzardo will be promoted from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move to replace him on the active roster. Kwan exited Saturday’s game against the Angels with tightness in his left hamstring and underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the issue. The result of that exam is not yet known, so it’s hard to speculate just how much time the 26-year-old outfielder may stand to miss. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • Blanks Rangers over five frames
Lynch tossed five scoreless innings, walking two batters and allowing two hits while striking out six in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Lynch was promoted from Triple-A Omaha ahead of Sunday's start and he certainly stepped up his game, blanking the defending champs over five frames. The left-hander was able to work around three baserunners in the first inning to set the tone and ultimately went on to pitch four more scoreless innings in his first major-league outing of the year. Lynch could remain in the starting rotation for Kansas City for the time being with Alec Marsh (elbow) still unavailable. If he gets another turn in the rotation with the big-league club, Lynch's next start is tentatively set to come on the road against the Angels next weekend. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

    • Takes loss in quality start
Canning (1-4) took the loss Sunday against Cleveland, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk across six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Canning kept a clean sheet until the sixth inning when Jose Ramirez launched a two-run home run to cap off a 10-pitch at-bat. The long ball was the first Griffin has surrendered in over 20 innings, dating back to an April 13 start against Boston. Griffin completed six innings for the first time all year, notching a quality start and giving up five or fewer hits for a fourth straight outing. he's set up to face the Royals on Friday. • Secures extra-inning win
Yates (3-0) earned the win after he pitched two scoreless innings, allowing a walk while striking two batters in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

Advice: Yates entered the game in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Rangers trailing 2-1 and he was able to work around a walk to keep it a one-run deficit going into the ninth. After Texas tied it up at 2-2, the right-hander returned for the following frame, setting the Royals down in order. The Rangers went on to win it in the 10th inning, earning Yates his third victory of the year. The 37-year-old has yet to allow an earned run this season while posting a 0.50 WHIP with five saves over 14 innings in 12 appearances. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago
    • Wyatt Langford (hamstring) heading to 10-day IL
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters after Sunday’s game that Wyatt Langford will be placed on the injured list on Monday with a hamstring strain.

Advice: Bochy termed the injury as slightly more severe than a Grade 1 strain and noted that the 22-year-old outfielder will be facing a 3-4 week absence. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers who will need to be sure to have an alternative option in place for the next month or so while Langford recovers from the injury. Ezequiel Duran started in his place on Sunday and will likely see increased action while Langford is shelved. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

    • Bounces back with W
Carrasco (2-2) earned the win Sunday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over six innings against the Angels. He struck out three.

Advice: Carrasco got back on track with his first quality start of 2024, rebounding from a pair of poor starts leading up to the outing where he combined for 13 earned runs over nine innings. If you erase Carrasco's two-start hiccup, he owns a 2.92 era over 24.2 innings with a 19:14 K:BB. He's lined up for a start against the White Sox on Saturday, who've won five of their last nine games and are averaging 4.9 runs per game in that stretch. Rotowire.com 39 minutes ago

    • Blasts first homer
Bouchard reached base three times Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk against the Pirates.

Advice: Bouchard followed teammate Jacob Stallings' two-run blast with a shot of his own during a second inning that saw the Rockies jump out to an early three-run lead. It was the first homer for Bouchard, who later added a double for his first multi-hit effort of the season. Bouchard got the starting nod against Pirates lefty Bailey Falter, marking his first start in four games as he appears to be mired on the short side of a platoon in right field with Jake Cave, pending the return of Kris Bryant (back), who's currently on the injured list.
