• Swats seventh homer
Kelenic went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: He took Nestor Cortes deep for a solo shot in the third inning before adding a sacrifice fly in the fifth. Kelenic extended his hitting streak to 10 games with the blast, and over that stretch he's slashing .317/.356/.585 with three of his seven homers on the season. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:58 am

  • Picks up fifth steal
Gorman went 0-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Giants.

Advice: Gorman got aboard on a fielder's choice and picked up a steal for the second game in a row. The second baseman has gone 0-for-9 with a hit-by-pitch and two sacrifice flies over his last three contests. He's gone 17 games without a multi-hit effort, batting a poor .078 (5-for-64) in that span, though two of those hits have been homers. The slump has him down to a .194/.272/.421 slash line with 16 home runs, 36 RBI, five steals and 31 runs scored across 70 contests. Gorman's struggled to hit for average over his three years in the majors, and a career-worst 35.9 percent strikeout rate isn't doing him any favors in 2024. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:33 pm

  • Notches fifth steal
Ortiz went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Padres.

Advice: Ortiz logged his second multi-hit effort in a row after going 11 contests without one. The infielder has maintained a strong .278/.383/.449 slash line with six home runs, five steals, 27 RBI, 31 runs scored, 13 doubles and two triples over 244 plate appearances this season. While the overall numbers are good, he has just three extra-base hits across 20 games in June. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:41 pm

  • Jarred Kelenic homers in win
Jarred Kelenic went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI on Sunday against the Yankees.

Advice: Kelenic has turned himself into a bit of an engine atop the Braves’ lineup. He has a hit in all eight games he’s led-off and is 11-for-36 overall there. His homer got the Braves’ offense going and a fifth inning sac fly gave them some needed insurance. Most notably, Atlanta felt comfortable with him there against lefty Nestor Cortes. There’s a mild breakout happening here spurned by opportunity. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:06 pm

  • Idle Sunday
Fortes isn't in the Marlins' lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: With Fortes owning just a .422 OPS on the season, the Marlins will opt to start Ali Sanchez on Sunday in an effort to find any sort of offensive production from behind the plate. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:44 am

  • Confirmed for Tuesday
The Cardinals list Gibson (back) as their probable starter for Tuesday's game against Atlanta at Busch Stadium.

Advice: After coming off the bereavement list Wednesday, Gibson had been scheduled to start the Cardinals' series finale versus the Marlins later in the day, but he ended up being scratched shortly before opening pitch due to his back tightening up on him while he was going through his pregame routine. Matthew Liberatore was called upon for a spot start Wednesday in his stead, but Gibson looks like he'll be ready to go for his next turn through the Cardinals rotation. The veteran right-hander has submitted quality starts in three of his last five outings while turning in a 2.20 ERA and 1.05 WHIP over that stretch. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:13 am

  • Kyle Gibson (back) on track to start Tuesday
Kyle Gibson (back) is on track to start Tuesday against the Braves.

Advice: Gibson was scratched from a start earlier this week due to back tightness, but it sounds like he’s going to avoid a trip to the injured list, barring an unexpected setback. There should be a final decision on his status at some point in the coming days after he throws another side session. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:08 am

  • On base three times in win
Kelenic went 2-for-5 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI in Friday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: He extended his hitting streak to eight games with another strong performance. Over 16 games in June, Kelenic is slashing .288/.333/.492 with three doubles, three homers, two steals, seven runs and seven RBI, and the 24-year-old has provided a spark for Atlanta since moving into the leadoff spot. • Tosses five frames
Singer yielded a run on three hits and two walks over five innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out four during a loss to Texas.

Advice: Singer turned in three scoreless frames before Wyatt Langford knocked an RBI double in the fourth inning. It was the only damage against Singer through five innings, but the Royals bullpen would go on to allow five runs in the sixth and cost him a win. It was his first start without allowing a homer since May 19; in his previous four outings, he was taken deep six times, resulting in a 5.31 ERA. Singer lowered his season ERA to 3.29 with an 80:25 K:BB through 82 frames. He's in line for a home start against the Marlins next week. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:19 pm
