    • Salvador Perez exits Friday with knee discomfort
Salvador Perez was removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort.

Advice: Perez exited Friday’s contest in the eighth inning and told reporters afterwards that he felt a tweak in his right knee earlier in the game when he stood up quickly to catch a high fastball from Royals ace Cole Ragans. The 34-year-old ironman will presumably head for some additional testing and imaging to determine the severity of the issue if he’s not feeling better this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:57 am

    • Removed with knee discomfort
Perez was pulled from Friday's game against the Dodgers due to right knee discomfort.

Advice: Perez hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to give Kansas City a 3-0 lead, but his knee caused him to come out of the game during the eighth. It's unclear how severe the backstop's injury is, but the Royals should know more before Saturday's contest. If he does have to miss any amount of time, Freddy Fermin would be the next man up as Kansas City's main catcher. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:21 pm

    • Anthony Santander smashes game-tying homer
Anthony Santander went 2-for-5 with a solo home run against the Phillies on Friday.

Advice: Santander’s eighth inning home run was the first Matt Strahm has allowed all season and just the first run he’s allowed at all since opening day. Then Santander put one to the warning track in the 10th inning which nearly won the game for Baltimore. Also, his first inning single was smoked 114.4 MPH - the hardest he’s ever hit a ball in his career. That’s a great sign for the power hitting switch-hitter moving forward. Rotoworld Friday, 8:51 pm

    • On base five times in loss
Perez went 2-for-2 with three walks in Wednesday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Perez walked three times in a game for the first time in his career. The catcher has gone just 6-for-33 (.182) over 10 contests in June, but he's shown rare patience at the plate by drawing eight walks in that span. For the season, he's at a .302/.381/.488 slash line with 10 home runs, 42 RBI, 26 runs scored, 15 doubles and no stolen bases, and his 9.0 percent walk rate is double his previous career high, which was in a 39-game sample as a rookie in 2011. • Swats homer No. 10
Olson went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: The first baseman spoiled Baltimore's combined shutout bid by taking Keegan Akin deep in the eighth inning. Olson has hit safely in six straight games, and over his last 16 contests he's slashing .328/.385/.586 with three of his 10 homers on the season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:11 am

    • Getting afternoon off
Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against Atlanta.

Advice: Mountcastle will receive a breather for the day game after a night game, paving the way for Ryan O'Hearn to pick up a start at first base. The Orioles had included Mountcastle in the lineup for each of the last 14 games, with the 27-year-old slashing .273/.344/.564 with five home runs and 12 RBI over that stretch. • Matt Olson hits two-run homer against Orioles
Matt Olson went 2-for-3 and hit a two-run homer against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Advice: The homer, which accounted for Atlanta’s only scoring tonight, briefly evened up the game in the top of the eighth, but the Orioles went right back ahead in the bottom of the inning. It’s incredible that the Braves’ lineup has basically been the equal of the White Sox’s for about a month and a half now. Olson has actually picked up his play during this terrible span, but he’s not getting much help. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:38 pm

    • Getting Monday night off
Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: Kansas City will lean on a right-handed-heavy lineup to counter Yankees southpaw Carlos Rodon, so Pasquantino and fellow lefty-hitting regulars MJ Melendez and Kyle Isbel will hit the bench for the series opener. Pasquantino had started in each of the Royals' previous nine contests, recording at least one hit in eight of those contests while slashing .333/.357/.667 with two home runs and 10 RBI during that stretch. • Smacks homer Sunday
Santander went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: Santander has homered in every other game in June, going 11-for-35 (.314) with five long balls and eight RBI over nine contests this month. It's a continuation of the momentum he found at the plate in late May, though the uptick in power is an added positive. The outfielder is up to 14 homers, 37 RBI, 34 runs scored, 13 doubles and one triple while slashing .227/.306/.480 through 60 contests this season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:26 pm
