Advice: Steer's been locked in of late, going 11-for-35 with eight RBI over the last nine contests. He began the season as the team's primary left fielder but has played a lot at first base since Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) landed on the injured list in May. With news the Encarnacion-Strand opted for surgery that likely spells the end of his season, Steer is in line to become the club's primary first baseman. After a brief absence with a knee injury over the weekend, Profar has resumed his hot hitting --he's 10-for-36 (.278) with nine RBI during his nine-game hitting streak. Jurickson Profar hit a grand slam Tuesday in the Padres’ 9-7 takedown of the Nationals.

Advice: This game had a little bit of everything, including a benches-clearing incident, a manager ejection, some extended player admiration of home runs, ugly defense, boneheaded baserunning and 16 runs in all. What it didn’t have was strikeouts; the teams totaled just five, and Nationals hitters went the first eight innings without any at all. Profar, coming off a walkoff hit Monday, was involved in the early confrontation that emptied the dugouts and then immediately was hit by a pitch after warnings were issued. Immediately after that, he scored on a Manny Machado homer. His slam, a line-drive homer down the right field line, was the fourth of his career. Rea is no longer listed as the Brewers' probable starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: The Brewers haven't provided an explanation for the change, and Rea isn't believed to be dealing with any sort of injury, so he may just be getting pushed back in the pitching schedule so that Milwaukee can have him available to make a start against the divisional-rival Cubs over the weekend. Milwaukee has yet to announce a replacement starter for Wednesday's contest, but newly acquired lefty Dallas Keuchel would be available on four days' rest to take the hill against the Rangers if the Brewers choose to add him to the 40-man roster.
