    • Sent to Triple-A
Hughes was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Advice: Hughes joined the big-league roster at the end of April and started out with two scoreless appearances, but he surrendered four runs while recording just one out Saturday versus the Padres. Ryne Nelson (elbow) was activated from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
    • May drop appeal after Sunday start
Peralta implied that he could drop his appeal of a five-game suspension following his start Sunday against the Cubs, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Peralta was handed the ban Wednesday after he was deemed to have intentionally thrown at Rays outfielder Jose Siri in Tuesday's 8-2 win. The right-hander was ejected from the game immediately after hitting Siri, who then exchanged punches with Brewers reliever Abner Uribe following his next plate appearance in the eighth inning, inciting a benches-clearing brawl. Peralta seemingly appealed the suspension to give the Brewers more time to prepare for his absence, as it doesn't sound as though he's expecting a reduction in his five-game ban following the appeal process. With that in mind, fantasy managers should prepare for Peralta to have his next turn through the rotation skipped, with Milwaukee preparing to turn to a spot starter next Friday in St. Louis. Robert Gasser is scheduled to pitch Sunday for Triple-A Nashville and could be called up to fill the void for Peralta on Friday, though manager Pat Murphy also floated the possibility of that game being treated as a bullpen day, per Hogg. • Coulds see save chances
Hudson is the likely favorite for save opportunities after Dodgers closer Evan Phillips (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday.

Advice: Hudson has been working in a setup role in the early stages of the season, putting him in prime position to fill in at closer for the Dodgers. The right-hander has seven holds and a save with a 3.60 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB over 15 innings this year. Phillips' injury was diagnosed as a Grade 1 strain, per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports, so a return after the 15-day minimum is possible. Rotowire.com 12 minutes ago
    • Emerging as primary DH
Wisdom will serve as the Cubs' designated hitter and No. 7 batter in Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Advice: Wisdom is starting at DH for the third time in four games, and he looks like the role will be his for the taking for the time being after the Cubs optioned Matt Mervis to Triple-A Iowa on Saturday. He should have an opportunity to see steady playing time until the Cubs get at least one of Seiya Suzuki (oblique) or Cody Bellinger (ribs) back from the injured list. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

    • Ryan Pepiot leaves Sunday after being hit in leg
Ryan Pepiot left Sunday’s start against the Mets with an apparent injury.

Advice: Pepiot took a liner off his leg on a ball that was hit 107 mph. The right-hander threw after and tried to stay in, but Rays manager Kevin Cash wouldn’t allow it. Pepiot will likely undergo imaging, and his status for his start next week should be updated shortly after. Manuel Rodriguez has taken over on the mound. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

    • Jeimer Candelario (shin) scratched from lineup
Jeimer Candelario has been scratched from the lineup Sunday with a bruised left shin.

Advice: Candelario fouled a ball off his shin Saturday, and the Reds will give the 30-year-old a day of rest as a precaution. Santiago Espinal is now starting in Candelario’s absence. He should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

    • Scratched with shin contusion
Candelario was scratched from Sunday's lineup against the Orioles due to a left shin contusion, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Candelario was penciled in at third base but won't start as scheduled due to the injury. He'll have Monday's team off day to rest up before Tuesday's series opener versus Arizona. Santiago Espinal will step in at the hot corner Sunday. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

    • Getting trial in everyday role
Dunn will start at third base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Over his final 13 games of April, Dunn had gone just 3-for-25 with 12 strikeouts and had seemingly removed himself from consideration for the everyday role at third base, which Joey Ortiz had claimed a firm grasp of due to his much stronger start to the season. However, the Brewers aren't yet willing to pull the plug on Dunn, as manager Pat Murphy told Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Dunn would get an extended look this weekend to prove that he's worthy of sticking around with the big club rather than getting optioned to Triple-A Nashville. For his part, Dunn has done well to convince the Brewers he deserves to remain up in the majors, as he's gone 4-for-9 with a triple, a walk, three runs and an RBI over the previous three contests. Murphy said that the starting third base job still belongs to Ortiz, but Dunn will get his fourth straight nod Sunday and might have made a case to see more consistent playing time as a utility option. • Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) throws from 75 feet
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) was able to throw off flat ground Sunday.

Advice: Orioles pitching coach Drew French told reporters that Rodriguez threw from 60-75 foot away and that it was a “good day” for him. The right-hander has been on the shelf since May 1 with shoulder inflammation, and while there’s no timetable for his return, it’s certainly a positive development that he’s able to throw a few days later.
