Snell (groin) is set for an MRI and likely another stint on the injured list according to manager Bob Melvin, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Snell suffered a groin injury in Sunday's 7-5 loss to the Yankees and he could be sidelined for multiple weeks. The team will likely make a decision on the left-hander's status moving forward Monday. If he is ultimately placed on the IL, it's possible that Keaton Winn (forearm) would be rerouted from his rehab assignment to join the Giants in Arizona prior to their three-game series with the Diamondbacks. Snell was removed from Sunday's contest against the Yankees in the fifth inning with an undisclosed injury, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Snell had tossed 4.2 innings of one-run ball while striking seven batters, but he was forced to exit with the bases loaded in the top of the fifth inning. The left-hander had already thrown 99 pitches in the contest, so he was likely facing his final batter of the game anyway. Reliever Erik Miller surrendered a two-run double to Alex Verdugo when he entered the contest, tacking on two more earned runs to Snell's line. Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that the swelling in Suarez's hand has improved significantly, and the left-hander could pick up a ball in the next day or two, Matt Gelb of The Athleticreports.

Advice: The 28-year-old was struck in the left hand by a comebacker during Saturday's start against the Cardinals, but he's had X-rays come back negative and already appears to be progressing in his recovery. It remains to be seen if Suarez will be cleared for his next turn through the rotation, but he's certainly trending in the right direction. Charlie Morton held the Athletics scoreless over six innings on Sunday. He allowed just one hit along with five walks and six strikeouts in a no-decision.

Advice: Poor command pushed Morton’s pitch count up in what was otherwise a fantastic outing. This was the sixth straight start in which Morton decreased the usage of his fastball and Sunday marked a season-low at 15%. In turn, he turned to more changeups which the Athletics couldn’t square up, but Morton also struggled to find the zone with it at times.
