    • Homer, five RBI in victory
Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and five total RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Reds.

Advice: Carroll looked back at home in the leadoff spot Tuesday -- after driving in two runs earlier in the game, the 23-year-old outfielder broke the game open with a three-run homer off the left-handed Justin Wilson in the seventh, his second long ball of the year and first since April 9, extending Arizona's lead to 5-0. After a brutal start to the season, it looks like Carroll may be starting to turn things around at the plate -- he now has at least one hit in six of his last seven contests, going 8-for-27 in that span. He's still slashing an uninspiring .211/.300/.278 through 34 games with 15 runs scored, 12 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:51 pm
    • Alex Verdugo drives in four in win over Astros
Alex Verdugo went 3-for-5 with a homer and four RBI in a 10-3 win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: The home run was Verdugo’s fifth on the season and he now has 17 RBI. The big fly wasn’t a Yankee Stadium blast either, with Verdugo hitting it 383 feet at 107.4 mph off the bat. While many expected a power boost for Verdugo moving to Yankee Stadium, he has just a 3.8 percent barrel rate and his lowest fly ball rate since 2021. His HR/FB rate is up, so Verdugo could easily surpass his 13 home runs from last year, but he’s unlikely to see a major surge. Still, his walk rate is the highest it’s ever been and he’s slashing .275/.362/.450 on the season, which will give him fantasy value if he keeps hitting cleanup behind Juan Soto and Aaron Judge. • Corbin Carroll homers, drives in five 5 in win
Corbin Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and five RBI in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: This was a much-needed big game for Carroll, who is still slashing just .211/.300/.278 on the season with two home runs and 12 RBI. The home run was well-struck at 104.3 mph off the bat and traveling 390 feet. While that’s great, it was the only ball on the day that Carroll hit over 87 mph. It doesn’t make sense to trade Carroll away while his value is so low, but we’ll need to see more consistent quality contact before we can be sure he’s fully healthy or ready for a hot stretch. However, it is nice to see him back to hitting leadoff, which would be important for his fantasy value. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:29 pm
    • Moves up to leadoff spot Tuesday
Carroll will start in center field and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game in Cincinnati.

Advice: It's the first time since April 22 that Carroll has hit higher than seventh. The reigning National League Rookie of the Year did have two base knocks and two RBI in Monday's game, his first multi-hit effort since April 19. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:34 pm
    • Breaks RBI drought
Carroll went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 11-4 win over San Diego.

Advice: Carroll delivered a two-run single as part of Arizona's four-run first inning, snapping a 16-game drought without an RBI. He's hit in five of the last six games (6-for-22), which is a positive sign for the slumping outfielder, but Carroll's bat still lacks impact. Through 33 games, he has seven RBI, four extra-base hits and a .250 slugging percentage. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:32 am
    • Two hits, stolen base in loss
Marte went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Marte drove in the Mets' only run of the game with an RBI single following a leadoff double from Brandon Nimmo in the top of the first inning. The right fielder added another single and a walk in the contest while also swiping his seventh bag of the season. Marte has struggled a bit at the plate as of late and is batting just .188 (3-for-16) in May. However, he's also tallied multiple hits in five of his last 11 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:44 am
    • Starling Marte has two hits, steals base in loss
Starling Marte went 2-for-3 with an RBI and also stole a base on Saturday in the Mets’ loss to the Rays.

Advice: Marte was one of the few bright spots for the Mets in this one as they managed just six hits combined against Rays starter Zack Littell and a trio of relievers. It’s still early, but the 35-year-old veteran outfielder has looked rejuvenated this season, batting .275/.313/.408 with 16 runs scored, four homers, 15 RBI and seven steals in 129 plate appearances. • Corbin Carroll singles in loss to Padres
Corbin Carroll went 1-for-4 with a single as the Diamondbacks were demolished by the Padres on Saturday night in San Diego.

Advice: Hitting out of the eighth spot in the Diamondbacks’ lineup, the 23-year-old outfielder singled with two outs in the fifth inning but was left stranded at first base. He struck out in each of his other two plate appearances in the ballgame. It’s been a brutal start to the season for Carroll, as he’s hitting a paltry .194/.291/.242 with one home run, five RBI and eight stolen bases through his first 32 ballgames. • Mike Trout undergoes successful knee surgery
Mike Trout underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair the meniscus tear in his left knee.

Advice: Officially, Trout underwent a partial medial meniscectomy. While there’s still no official timetable for his return, the Angels remain optimistic that he’ll be able to return to the lineup at some point during the 2024 season. Unfortunately, that leaves fantasy managers in leagues without injured list spots having to carry a zero on the bench for an indefinite amount of time, or risk the pain of throwing him back into the free agent pool and not being able to reacquire him when/if he does return.
