    • Tommy Edman progresses to hitting from both sides
Tommy Edman (wrist) has been cleared to take batting practice from both sides of the plate.

Advice: Edman continues to work his way back from offseason surgery on his right wrist and remains without a definitive timetable to return to St. Louis at the moment. The versatile switch-hitting 29-year-old figures to be ready around the All-Star break, but he’s going to need a couple weeks of at-bats in the minors to get back up to speed in the wake of such an extended layoff. • Homers in third straight contest
Diaz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Diaz got Houston on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning, smacking a solo shot off Miles Mikolas the opposite way to cut the Astros deficit to 3-1. It's the third straight game with a home run for Diaz, who's up to six long balls on the season. The 25-year-old backstop is now slashing .250/.278/.397 with 29 RBI and 21 runs scored across 216 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:18 am

    • Triple, home run in win
Duran went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a triple and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 9-0 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Duran legged out his league-leading ninth triple in the fifth inning before putting the final touch on Boston's convincing victory with a solo homer off Jimmy Herget in the eighth, extending the lead to 9-0. Duran now has three multi-hit efforts in his last four contests after going just 2-for-28 in his previous seven games. Overall, the 27-year-old outfielder is slashing .261/.326/.447 with four homers, 36 runs scored, 25 RBI and 11 stolen bases across 62 games this year. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:27 pm

    • Yainer Diaz homers in third straight game vs. Cards
Yainer Diaz belted a solo homer on Wednesday in the Astros’ loss to the Cardinals.

Advice: Diaz might want to consider relocating to the NL Central after homering for the third consecutive game on Wednesday afternoon against the Cardinals. The 25-year-old slugging backstop had just three round-trippers over 52 games to open the year, but has doubled his season total in just three contests since June 3. • Jarren Duran homers, triples against Braves
Jarred Duran collected his ninth triple and fourth homer Wednesday against the Braves.

Advice: Duran hasn’t been quite as good as hoped for fantasy purposes, especially after the Red Sox decided to rein him in on the basepaths, but there still could be more in store here. He’s at .261/.326/.447 to date, and he’s up to 11th in the AL with 36 runs scored. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:25 pm

    • Late addition to lineup
Meyers has been added to the lineup and will start in center field and bat cleanup Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Meyers had been scheduled to receive the day off, but with Alex Bregman (hand) scratched from the lineup, the Astros had an opening. With Meyers filling his usual spot in center field, Mauricio Dubon will shift from center to cover third base for Bregman. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:06 am

    • Getting breather
Meyers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Cardinals, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Meyers looks to be receiving a routine maintenance day after producing two hits and two RBI in the first two games of the series. Houston will go with Mauricio Dubon in center field Wednesday as it attempts to complete the sweep of St. Louis. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:17 am

    • Clutch homer Tuesday
Bohm went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Brewers in 10 innings.

Advice: Bohm got the Phillies on the board in the eighth inning, leading off the frame with a 420-foot blast off Elvis Peguero to tie the game, 1-1. It's the first homer since May 19 for Bohm -- he's gone just 11-for-57 (.193) since then following a red-hot start to the season. Overall, the 27-year-old third baseman is slashing .296/.350/.481 with six homers, 50 RBI, 29 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases across 61 games this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:07 am

    • Smacks fifth homer
Diaz went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Diaz's third-inning blast gave the Astros a 6-1 lead, which was ultimately enough for the win. The catcher sat out the first two games of June, and he's responded with homers in back-to-back contests after going 39 contests without a long ball. He's up to five homers, 28 RBI, 20 runs scored, 10 doubles and a .249/.277/.383 slash line through 213 plate appearances this season. With his bat coming around, Diaz should be able to maintain a starting role at catcher over Victor Caratini. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:55 pm
