      Kyle Schwarber smacked a two-run single on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the Angels.

      Advice: Schwarber’s second-inning two-run single off Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval represented Philadelphia’s only offensive production of a low-scoring contest out in Los Angeles.       Jo Adell went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts on Wednesday in the Angels’ loss to the Phillies.

      Advice: So much for the whole cutting back on strikeouts storyline. Adell appears to have made some legitimate strides in the plate skills department early on this season, but he looked a bit overwhelmed in this one as he fanned twice in three at-bats against Phillies ace Zack Wheeler before tacking on a pair of additional punch outs later in the contest.     • Chris Sale posts nine strikeouts in win over M’s
      Chris Sale recorded a season-high nine strikeouts and allowed one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Mariners.

      Advice: Sale authored arguably his strongest performance of his Braves debut so far, generating an eye-popping 21 swinging strikes, and finishing with an elite 39 percent CSW. A run-scoring single from Jorge Polanco with two outs in the fifth inning represented the lone tally against him in this one. The oft-injured 35-year-old veteran southpaw has looked rejuvenated since arriving in Atlanta, allowing three earned runs or fewer in five of six starts to open the year. He’ll carry a strong 3.44 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 42/7 K/BB ratio across 36 2/3 innings (six starts) into a home outing next Wednesday against his former team, the suddenly resurgent Red Sox.     • Willi Castro goes 3-for-5, steals base
      Willi Castro went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and a stolen base Wednesday as the Twins took down the White Sox 10-5.

      Advice: Castro has really warmed up, going 16-for-35 with eight RBI in his last eight games. That’s raised his OPS from .538 to 789. He was in line to lose playing time due to Carlos Correa’s return, but the hot streak has changed that, and now that Byron Buxton is down, there’s little doubt that Castro will stay in the lineup for a while.     • Jeff Hoffman notches second save for Phillies
      Jeff Hoffman notched his second save with a perfect ninth Tuesday against the Angels.

      Advice: We’re still holding out hope that Orion Kerkering will get some of these chances, but Hoffman’s velocity is back up after looking like it might be an issue this spring and he’ll likely remain an excellent reliever. He’s probably a fringe option in 10- and 12-team leagues, but he should be useful in deeper formats. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:34 pm

      Ozzie Albies went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss Tuesday to the Mariners.

      Advice: Albies has driven in runs in both games against Seattle thus far. The switch-hitting infielder got Atlanta on the board in the eighth with a single to score Jarred Kelenic, and Albies is now up to 18 RBI on the season.       Hoffman picked up the save Tuesday, striking out one during a perfect inning against the Angels.

      Advice: Hoffman was thrust into a save chance after the Phillies took the lead with a three-run top of the ninth and came through for his second save of the season.       McArthur picked up the save in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: McArthur improved to 7-for-8 in save chances this season while extending his scoreless-inning streak to 10.2. The 27-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 2.63 with a 1.17 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB across 12 appearances (13.2 innings) this year. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:54 pm

      Hader (1-2) earned the win Tuesday, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk with four strikeouts over two innings against the Guardians.

      Advice: Hader surrendered a double to David Fry in the 10th inning that plated designated runner Josh Naylor as the go-ahead run. Still, Hader ended up with his first victory of the campaign following a Victor Caratini walk-off homer in the home half of the frame. After a bounce-back 2023 season, Hader looks to have regressed to his poor 2022 form (5.22 ERA across 56 appearances), producing a 6.39 ERA across the first 12.2 innings of his Astros tenure.
