      Ha-Seong Kim launched a three-run homer in the seventh inning on Saturday night, helping to power the Padres to a lopsided victory over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Kim had been hitless in three at-bats entering the seventh inning, but he was able to salvage his night by crushing a 382-foot (97.2 mph EV) three-run blast off of Bryce Jarvis. He also drove in a run with a ground ball in the ninth inning.       Lopez (3-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 3-1 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out eight.

      Advice: Boston pushed across a run in the top of the first inning, but Lopez slammed the door shut after that, generating 19 swinging strikes among his 99 pitches as he tied his season high in Ks. The quality start was the third of the season for the right-hander, and Lopez will take a 4.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB through 37.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners.       Schmidt (3-1) picked up the win Saturday over the Tigers, giving up three runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.

      Advice: The right-hander tied his season high in strikeouts while generating 33 called or swinging strikes among his 91 pitches. Schmidt has been remarkably consistent to begin the season, allowing between one and three runs in every start and completing five innings in six of seven outings, although he has yet to last a full six frames.       Jared Jones tossed seven shutout innings with ten strikeouts in a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday.

      Advice: There were some concerns over Jones’ velocity his last time out. He looked just fine on Saturday, shutting down the Rockies over seven innings. He was back up to 97.6 mph on the fastball, generating 17 whiffs to strike out ten batters. Jones allowed just one baserunner on the day, a double by Elias Díaz in the fifth inning.
