    • Homers in loss
Semien went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 2-1 loss to the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Semien opened the scoring with a leadoff homer off Tarik Skubal and added a single and a walk in the third and fifth innings. The homer was Semien's first since May 17, and he has now reached base in 10 of his 14 June plate appearances. On the season, Semien is slashing .263/.322/.445 with 10 homers, 35 RBI, and 43 runs scored in 270 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:09 pm

    • Semien hits leadoff home run Monday
Marcus Semien went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Semien’s 10th of the season. He only has one stolen base on the year, but with 43 runs and 35 RBI he’s continued to be one of the most consistent players in fantasy baseball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:39 pm

    • Drops to eighth in batting order
Carroll is starting in center field and batting eighth Monday night against the Giants, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Carroll's struggles at the dish have continued, as he's slashing .205/.289/.333 over his last 10 contests. Skipper Torey Lovullo noted that he'll likely bump Carroll down in the order against lefties moving forward, per Weiner. This change clears the way for Gabriel Moreno to move into the No. 2 spot in the order Monday evening. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:10 pm

    • Corbin Carroll dropped to eighth in lineup
The Diamondbacks have Corbin Carroll batting eighth tonight against Giants left-hander Erik Miller.

Advice: Gabriel Moreno is batting second in his place. This might just be a special-occasion switch, since Miller is being looked at as an opener and dropping Carroll means he might not bat until righty Spencer Howard enters the game. The Diamondbacks typically dropped Carroll in the lineup against lefties last year, but that hasn’t been the case this season; he’s hit first or second against both lefties and righties, aside for a 10-game span in late April and early May in which he was dropped to the bottom of the order versus everyone. Arizona faces a lefty again tomorrow, so unless Torey Lovullo comments, we’ll have to wait and see whether this is a one-time thing, a change versus lefties or a semi-permanent move. The slumping Carroll’s batted-ball numbers got better for a time last month, even if his actual statistics didn’t. Unfortunately, though, they’ve faded again lately. • Set for bullpen session Wednesday
Manager Rob Thomson said Monday that Suarez (hand) will play catch Tuesday and throw a bullpen session Wednesday before the Phillies decide on the left-hander's next step, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Suarez was forced out after just two innings in his most recent start against the Cardinals on Saturday, when he took a 106.1 mile-per-hour line drive off his pitching hand. X-rays cleared Suarez of any structural damage, but he's still dealing with some bruising and swelling that could present some difficulty for the southpaw in commanding his full arsenal. The upcoming bullpen session will represent an important test for Suarez in showing the Phillies' coaching and training staffs that the injury won't affect his pitching. At this stage, Thomson said that Suarez remains in play for his next turn through the rotation, which falls during the Phillies' two-game series with the Mets in London this weekend. • Activated from injured list
The Rays reinstated Lowe (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Tampa Bay is off Monday, but the club went ahead and officially put Lowe back on its active roster ahead of their series against the Marlins, which begins Tuesday. Lowe has been limited to just 14 games this season because of a pair of oblique strains, but he's ready to roll after going 4-for-12 with a triple, three runs and two RBI over three rehab games with Triple-A Durham. He'll likely see most of his playing time in right field for the Rays but could also play some in center. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:57 am

    • Rays activate Josh Lowe (oblique) from 10-day IL
Rays activated OF Josh Lowe from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: As anticipated, Lowe will be back in uniform with the team when they kick off their two-game set against the Marlins in Miami on Tuesday. Prior to his stint on the injured list, the 26-year-old outfielder had been hitting .240/.296/.440 with two dingers and three RBI in his first 50 at-bats. Jonathan Aranda was optioned to Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:47 am

    • Tracking toward Tuesday return
Lowe (oblique) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game in Miami after he completed a rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham over the weekend, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe went 4-for-12 with a triple, three runs and two RBI over the three-game rehab assignment and played all nine innings in right field in Sunday's contest. The 26-year-old has made a swift recovery from his right oblique strain, a recurrence of a previous injury that had kept him on the shelf for the first five weeks of the season. Once activated, Lowe will likely move between center field, right field and designated hitter while occupying a prominent spot in the lineup against right-handed pitching. Lowe's impending return could result in the likes of Jose Siri and Richie Palacios losing out on playing time. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:45 am

    • Wins with quality start
Lodolo (5-2) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out three and earning a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Lodolo kept the Cubs off the board through four innings before they tallied a run in the fifth and sixth innings. He's allowed three runs over 11.1 innings while winning his last two starts since returning from the injured list. However, he's totaled just six punchouts during that span. On the year, Lodolo owns a 3.11 ERA with a 49:10 K:BB through 46.1 frames. His next start is projected to be a rematch with the Cubs at home. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:02 am
