    • Shaky results in no-decision
      Javier did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's win over the Angels, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out one over four innings.

      Advice: Javier's night got started off on the wrong foot after surrendering a two-run blast to Luis Rengifo in the opening frame. The Angels then got to him for two more runs in the fourth on a trio of hits which included an RBI-double from Zach Neto. It was a very discouraging performance after Javier put together his best start of the season his previous outing against the A's. After the game, he cited his struggles due to poor mechanics, though he's now given up 11 runs on 13 hits and seven walks while striking out just one batter in 5.1 innings in his two starts surrounding his gem against Oakland. The 27-year-old now owns a 3.89 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 27:19 K:BB in 34.2 innings and lines up to face Seattle next week. Rotowire.com Today, 4:44 am
       
    • Cristian Javier struggles in no-decision
      Cristian Javier was removed after giving up four runs and eight hits in four innings Tuesday against the Angels.

      Advice: Javier’s stuff was well off tonight; he averaged just 90.4 mph with his fastball, which was down 1.5 mph from his previous average this season. He wound up with just one strikeout and three walks. All things considered, he was lucky to give up just the four runs. Javier said afterwards that the decline in velocity was due to poor mechanics and not anything injury-related, so that’s probably good. He’ll face the Mariners next.       Kikuchi (2-4) took the loss Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks across six innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Tuesday's performance marked Kikuchi's third quality start in his last four appearances. However, he owns a 0-2 record during that stretch as the Blue Jays have struggled offensively. The 33-year-old walked multiple batters for the first time since April 10 and was charged with two earned runs or fewer for the eighth time in 10 outings. On the year, Kikuchi owns a 2.64 ERA -- which would be a career-best tally -- with 61 strikeouts across 58.0 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Tigers on Sunday.       Salvador Perez went 2-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Tigers.

      Advice: The real story of the night was Bobby Witt Jr.'s two-homer, six RBI performance, but Perez also managed two hits, with his first coming on a single that scored Witt Jr. Perez now has 39 RBI on the season and has hit safely in seven straight games.       Suarez (9-0) earned the win Tuesday over the Rangers, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out 10 over seven innings.

      Advice: Suarez was stellar again Tuesday, holding Texas to a lone run on a Marcus Semien double in the third inning while recording a season-high 10 strikeouts. The 28-year-old southpaw has been a revelation for the Phillies this season -- his ERA is down to a sparkling 1.36 with a 0.79 WHIP and 49:9 K:BB while earning a league-most nine wins across 10 starts (66 innings).     • Corey Seager homers in loss to Phillies
      Corey Seager went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Phillies on Tuesday.

      Advice: Seager crushed an offering from Jeff Hoffman 103.3 mph off the bat and 380 feet for his seventh home run of the year. It was also his fifth home run in 18 games in May as the power is starting to show up. However, Seager also had four strike outs on Tuesday and is still hitting just .246/.335/.383 on the season.     • Ranger Suárez strikes out 10 in win over TEX
      Ranger Suárez allowed one run on five hits in seven innings in a win over the Rangers, striking out 10 and walking just two.

      Advice: He just keeps doing it. Suárez now has a 1.36 ERA on the season to go along with a 9-0 record. He posted just an 18 percent whiff rate on Tuesday but did have a solid 27 percent CSW and he pounded the zone with his sinker and four-seam. No pitch besides the four-seam or sinker had a zone rate over 33 percent, but it didn’t seem to matter on the night. It’s hard to imagine Suárez keeping this up, and his start this weekend in Colorado is certainly risky, but you can’t bench the left-hander while he’s pitching like this.     • Trevor Megill rebounds with save Tuesday vs. Fish
      Trevor Megill fired a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the Marlins to record his seventh save of the season.

      Advice: Megill got the call to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and needed just 14 pitches (11 strikes) to slam the door. It was a much-needed bounce-back after suffering his first blown save of the season during Monday’s series opener at loan Depot park.     • Kikuchi lacks run support in loss to White Sox
      Yusei Kikuchi allowed two earned runs over six innings in the Blue Jays’ loss to the White Sox.

      Advice: Kikuchi was fine for much of the evening but gave up a two-RBI single to Corey Julks in the fifth inning, which looked like a devastating blow to a Blue Jays offense that managed just two hits on the night. Kikuchi’s record sits at 2-3 on the year despite a solid 2.64 ERA. The Jays entered the day as one of the worst run-scoring offenses in the league, making wins hard to come by for Kikuchi, who has yet to earn a win in May despite allowing just six earned runs over 24 1/3 innings on the month.
