      Advice: Stone was spectacular Wednesday, matching his season high with seven strikeouts en route to recording the first complete-game shutout of his major league career. The right-hander went 1-2-3 through five of his nine innings of work and didn't allow a runner to reach second base outside of a leadoff double from Gavin Sheets to open the second. Stone has now won each of his last five decisions (spanning six starts) and has also posted at least six strikeouts in five of his last six outings.       Advice: Though the Yankees suffered through an ugly loss to their crosstown rival, Judge kept chugging along, smashing a 400-foot, two-run homer in the sixth inning for his team's only runs. The long ball was the slugger's 10th through 21 games in a monstrous June during which he's also produced 32 RBI. The first baseman's power and consistency are slowly returning, but he's still striking out at a 29.5 percent rate, his worst mark since his rookie year. He's down to a .254/.310/.364 slash line with six home runs, 32 RBI, 26 runs scored and one stolen base over 73 contests this year. The Cardinals have occasionally used Brandon Crawford and Brendan Donovan at the hot corner, and they could continue to be an option there if Arenado is out of the lineup or limited to designated hitter at any point in the future, as his forearm issue is believed to be a lingering one. He hadn't allowed a run over his last two starts, and he's walked multiple batters just twice in his last seven outings.       Reynaldo López defeated the Cardinals by allowing two runs in five innings in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader.

      Advice: López certainly wasn’t at his sharpest today, but the Cardinals came away with just one run each time they loaded the bases against him. The Braves had bullpen help ready to go the latter time, when Brendon Donovan was up with two outs in the fifth.
