    • Bo Bichette ejected from Saturday’s ballgame
Bo Bichette was ejected from Saturday’s ballgame against the Nationals after spiking his helmet in frustration to a questionable called-third strike.

Advice: The slumping 26-year-old shortstop appeared to take exception to a pitch that grazed the outside corner against him, and he took out some frustration on his helmet. Home plate umpire Jonathan Parra didn’t take kindly to that though and gave him the heave-ho. He’ll catch the rest of Saturday’s game from the clubhouse. Rotoworld Today, 2:36 pm

    • Riley Greene hits leadoff homer in loss to Yankees
Riley Greene went 1-for-3 with a solo homer in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Greene socked his eighth homer of the season Saturday, and it came to leadoff the game off Clarke Schmidt. The 23-year-old has been outstanding in 2024 with .276/.401/.552 slash over 116 at-bats, and Greene is more than talented enough to keep this going while hitting at the top of the Detroit lineup. • Picks up seventh steal
Altuve went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI on Friday against the Mariners.

Advice: Altuve had a productive day from the leadoff spot that included the go-ahead RBI in the seventh inning. He also stole his seventh base of the season and third in his last two contests. Altuve has seven homers across 146 plate appearances while hitting .348, providing excellent production across the board. Rotowire.com Today, 10:15 am

    • Tallies three hits Friday
Greene went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Greene was the only Detroit hitter to get anything going Friday, as the team had just five hits overall. The outfielder could have had a bigger game if his teammates had come through, but he's still on a nice six-game hitting streak either way. During that span, Greene is batting a robust .435 with two home runs, four total runs scored and four RBI. It looks like the 23-year-old is primed for a big campaign. • Begins rehab assignment
Friedl (wrist) began a rehab assignment Thursday and is 1-for-7 with a walk over two games for Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: Friedl, batting in his customary leadoff spot, played seven innings at shortstop Thursday and a full game Friday as the designated hitter. Reds manager David Bell told Mike Petraglia of MLB.com that he'll have a better idea of Friedl's return timeline by the end of the weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 6:27 am

    • Altuve drives in run, steals base in win over M’s
Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in a win Friday over the Mariners.

Advice: Altuve hit a perfect safety squeeze to knock in his 12th run of the game and give Houston a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning. The steal was the seventh of the season and 300th of his career. Altuve has been sensational thus far in 2024, and is playing near — if not at — the MVP level he reached not all that long ago. • Receiving Friday off
Langford is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Langford started the previous 15 games and will receive a day to reset after he posted a .542 OPS during that stretch. Travis Jankowski will bat eighth as the designated hitter Friday for Texas. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:29 pm
    • Brandon Lowe (oblique) ready for rehab assignment
Brandon Lowe (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Advice: The 29-year-old slugger has been shelved since April 9 due to a right oblique strain. Given the long layoff, he’s likely to require several games at the Triple-A level to get his timing back before he’s ready to return to a Rays’ lineup that is in desperate need of a boost. Lowe was hitting just .185/.267/.333 with a homer and four RBI in eight games before being sidelined. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm

    • Starting rehab stint Tuesday
Lowe (oblique) will start his rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Durham, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported Friday.

Advice: Lowe has been sidelined since April 7 with a strained right oblique but will get back into game action Tuesday. Until he rejoins the big-league club, Amed Rosario and Curtis Mead will continue filling in at second base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:18 pm
