    • Swipes ninth bag
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Hitting leadoff against Washington lefty MacKenzie Gore, Lindor got right back up after seeing an 11-game hitting streak snapped Sunday. The veteran shortstop has swiped three bags in the last five contests, giving him nine steals on the season, and over his last 15 games he's slashing .339/.397/.516 with five doubles, two homers, seven runs and eight RBI as he puts a sluggish start to the season behind him. • Joining Triple-A roster soon
Lawlar (thumb) is expected to join the Triple-A Reno roster soon, Jesse Borek of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lawlar is working his way back from surgery to repair a ruptured UCL tendon in his right thumb. He's played three rehab games with the Arizona Complex League Diamondbacks, going 1-for-7 with a 1:4 K:BB in 11 plate appearances. The 21-year-old will report to Reno in short order with the hope of playing his way back onto the major-league roster. Lawlar went just 4-for-31 during his brief time with the Diamondbacks last season but remains one of the elite prospects in baseball. Geraldo Perdomo (knee) should beat Lawlar back to Arizona, but Lawlar is the club's long-term answer at shortstop once the team decides he's ready to take the reins. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago
    • Starts at 1B again
Duran started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a double in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Duran was in the starting lineup at first base for a third straight game -- all against lefties -- as it appears primary starter Nathaniel Lowe is losing work against southpaws. Duran is batting .235/.304/.275 against lefties this season, which is lower than Lowe's line of .250/.327/.292, suggesting the platoon may not be a long-term solution. Rotowire.com Today, 5:27 am

    • Moving rehab to Triple-A
Perdomo (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Perdomo was cleared for at-bats in the Arizona Complex League over the weekend, and the club has since determined that he's ready to face stronger competition. He'll likely play at least a few games at Triple-A before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:31 pm

    • CJ Abrams dealing with shoulder soreness on swings
CJ Abrams, out of the lineup for a third straight game Monday, said his shoulder is still bothering him when he swings but that it’s improving each day.

Advice: Abrams hurt the shoulder Friday, but it sounded like he would have played over the weekend if not for an illness he was also dealing with. That illness no longer seems to be a factor, but the shoulder remains a problem, keeping him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:41 pm

    • Receiving breather Monday
Newman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Though he's coming off a productive weekend against the Mets in which he went 4-for-14 with a walk, a stolen base, three runs and an RBI in the four-game series, Newman will get a much-needed breather. Newman had started at shortstop in each of Arizona's last 21 games, but he'll give way to Blaze Alexander on Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:36 pm

    • Not starting Monday
Estrada (thumb) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Arizona, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Estrada will miss a third consecutive game after jamming his thumb Friday against the Mets. Brett Wisely will start at second base Monday and bat in the leadoff spot against Diamondbacks right-hander Ryne Nelson. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:26 pm

    • Report: Tucupita Marcano faces gambling ban
Tucupita Marcano could receive a lifetime ban from MLB for betting on baseball, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports.

Advice: That’d be awfully unfortunate for Marcano, a 24-year-old who has been out since last August due to a torn ACL and was slated to resume playing in minor league games sometime soon. Marcano hit .217/.269/.320 in 447 at-bats for the Padres and Pirates from 2021-23. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:15 pm

    • Facing possible ban for gambling
Major League Baseball is currently investigating Marcano (knee) for a violation of the sport's gambling policy, which could result in a lifetime ban, Jared Diamond and Lindsey Adler of The Wall Street Journal Report report.

Advice: According to the report, four other minor-league players are under investigation along with Marcano, a 24-year-old infielder who has been on the Padres' 10-day injured list all season while he completes his recovery from a torn ACL. Per Jeff Passan of ESPN.com, while MLB's investigation isn't yet complete, a penalty for Marcano could be imposed in the coming days. Marcano has seen big-league action in each of the previous three seasons as a member of the Padres and Pirates, slashing .217/.269/.320 with five home runs and seven stolen bases across 447 career plate appearances.
