    • Slugs grand slam
Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a grand slam during Wednesday's 9-5 loss to the Giants in 10 innings.

Advice: Reynolds clobbered his second-career grand slam Wednesday, bringing Joey Bart, Michael Taylor and Andrew McCutchen in to score and give the Pirates a 5-0 lead. Since May 5, Reynolds is batting .284 with two homers, nine RBI, seven runs scored and a pair of stolen bases. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:16 pm

    • Bryan Reynolds blasts grand slam in loss to Giants
Bryan Reynolds clobbered a grand slam in the fourth inning on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Pirates past the visiting Giants.

Advice: The Pirates entered the home half of the fourth inning engaged in a scoreless tie. They pushed a run across as Andrew McCutchen was plunked with the bases loaded, then Reynolds greeted Sean Hjelle with a 386-foot (100.1 mph EV) grand slam that made it a 5-0 ballgame. The 29-year-old outfielder also singled in the contest, finishing the night 2-for-5. On the season, he’s now hitting .251/.335/.412 to go with six homers, 26 RBI and four swipes. • Jazz Chisholm hits solo homer in win
Jazz Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a solo home run on Wednesday against the Brewers.

Advice: Chisholm’s first-inning home run wound up being the only run scored in the pitcher’s duel between Jesús Luzardo and Freddy Peralta. That was his second lead-off home run this season and the seventh of his career as he’s very casually up to seven homers and nine steals on the campaign. Rotoworld Wednesday, 5:49 pm
    • Nolan Jones dealing with right knee soreness
Nolan Jones (back) has paused a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque due to right knee soreness.

Advice: Jones underwent a precautionary MRI that came back clean, but will still have his rehab assignment paused for at least a few days to rest and recover before getting back into game action. The 26-year-old slugger has been on the shelf since late April due to a lower back strain after slashing a lackluster .170/.243/.277 with one homer and two steals in 26 contests. • Rehab halted
Jones (back) has had his rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque paused because of right knee soreness stemming from a slide, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A MRI came back clean for Jones, who hasn't played for Albuquerque since Friday. The outfielder was placed on the 10-day injured list April 30 with a lower-back strain and had just started his rehab assignment Wednesday. It seemed like the 26-year-old was nearing a return and was trending toward being activated after Albuquerque's game Sunday, but this latest development scuttled that timeline. • Returns to lineup Monday
Martinez (illness) will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Monday's game in Cleveland.

Advice: Martinez sat out Sunday's contest due to flu-like symptoms but is feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. The veteran DH has slashed .315/.359/.466 with two home runs in 21 games to begin his tenure with the Mets. Rotowire.com May 20, 12:35 pm

    • Picks up fourth steal
Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Reynolds has swiped two bags over his last three games, and he's hit safely in five straight contests (6-for-21). The outfielder isn't one to run a lot -- he had a career-high 12 steals in 145 games last season, so he's roughly on track to match that number in 2024 after picking up his fourth theft of the campaign Sunday. Reynolds has added a .254/.341/.407 slash line with five home runs, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored, 12 doubles and a triple through 48 contests overall. Rotowire.com May 19, 8:27 pm

    • J.D. Martinez out of lineup with flu-like symptoms
J.D. Martinez is not in the starting lineup Sunday due to flu-like symptoms according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Advice: Heyman also reports that Francisco Lindor and Harrison Bader are also under the weather, but they’re in the lineup. For now, Martinez should be considered day-to-day. Rotoworld May 19, 8:08 am

    • Battling flu-like symptoms
Martinez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Miami due to flu-like symptoms, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Advice: It turns out Martinez is under the weather, as an illness is reportedly sweeping through the Mets' clubhouse. It's uncertain whether he's available off the bench. Brandon Nimmo will serve as the designated hitter against righty Sixto Sanchez. Rotowire.com May 19, 8:03 am
