    • Angels activate Luis Rengifo from IL
Angels activated Luis Rengifo (viral infection) from the injured list.

Advice: The Angels tried to keep Rengifo on the active roster, but after he missed five games, they decided to put him on the IL last Thursday. A week later, he’s returning to the fold and should likely remain an everyday player for the Angels given how banged up their lineup is. Niko Goodrum was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. • Activated from injured list
The Angels activated Rengifo (illness) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Rengifo missed the last week and a half with a viral illness which resulted in painful blisters on his feet. He's recovered now, though, and should be back in the lineup when the Angels return to action Friday in Texas against the Rangers. The super utility player is slashing .330/.378/.462 with two home runs and nine stolen bases over 28 contests this season. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago

    • Gunnar Henderson bats cleanup versus Blue Jays
Gunnar Henderson, who had led off for the Orioles every game this season, is in the cleanup spot for Wednesday’s game.

Advice: It seems like this is a consequence of the struggling Cedric Mullins being dropped to the ninth spot today, and manager Brandon Hyde not wanting to stack lefties. Still, Henderson hits more like a No. 3 or No. 4 hitter than a leadoff man anyway; he’s sitting at .264/.339/.553 this year and .257/.331/.495 for his career. Jordan Westburg is leading off today. It’d be great for his value if this becomes permanent, but it doesn’t sound like that’s what Hyde is planning at the moment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:16 am

    • Batting cleanup Wednesday
Henderson will start at shortstop and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Advice: It's the first time this season that Henderson has batted anywhere other than leadoff. The 22-year-old's production has slowed in May (.649 OPS), so Orioles manager Brandon Hyde is electing to shake things up a bit. Toronto is starting left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on Wednesday and the left-handed-hitting Henderson has actually been much better versus southpaws (1.008 OPS) this season. • Goes yard again
Seaver went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 7-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Seager took advantage of the Globe Life Field roof being open, swatting a solo home run off Ben Lively in the third inning. The shortstop has hit three home runs in his last eight games and is batting .267 with six RBI and an 11.4 percent K rate during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:24 am
    • Could return Friday
Rengifo (illness) fielded grounders Monday and could return from the injured list when eligible Friday, per MLB.com.

Advice: Rengifo came down with a viral infection in early May and landed on the IL when the illness caused painful blisters on his feet. His ability to take grounders Monday is a good indication that he's doing better, and there's a chance he could spend the minimum amount of time on the injured list. Upon his return, Rengifo should slide back into a starting role at third base -- Niko Goodrum, Luis Guillorme and Cole Tucker have been filling in at the hot corner in his stead. • Launches homer in win
Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Henderson regained a share of the major-league lead with his 12th homer of the campaign, putting him in a tie with Atlanta's Marcell Ozuna and Houston's Kyle Tucker. While he's hit two homers over the last three games, Henderson has just three multi-hit efforts in May, a month that's seen him go 8-for-34 (.235) over nine contests. It's little to be concerned about considering how well he's played overall -- he has a .278/.355/.583 slash line with 27 RBI, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases over 38 games. • Gunnar Henderson homer helps O’s top D-Backs
Gunnar Henderson homered in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday in 11 innings.

Advice: Henderson hit a solo blast of Ryne Nelson in the fifth inning. That’s the 12th homer for the second-year shortstop, and he’s driven in 27 runs over the Orioles’ first 37 games of the year. Henderson has played at a star level for much of 2024, and there’s plenty of reason to believe there’ll be way more good than bad for the infielder for the rest of the season and beyond. • Homers in loss
Seager went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 loss the Rockies.

Advice: Seager launched a solo home run to lead off the sixth inning and then walked with the bases loaded an inning later. He struggled through the first five weeks of the season -- perhaps attributable to missing much of spring training after undergoing hernia surgery in January -- and his batting average was .219 as of May 2. Since then, Seager has hit safely in six of seven games, going 9-for-28 (.321) with two home runs and seven RBI. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:37 am
