      Advice: While Thursday's outing wasn't as dominant as Skene's 11-strikeout performance in his last start, the rookie right-hander was still effective, coaxing a pair of key double-play balls to limit the Giants to just one run. However, the Pirates bullpen would implode late, leaving Skenes with a no-decision in an eventual 7-6 loss. Skenes now sports a 2.25 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP and an impressive 21:4 K:BB through his first three starts (16 innings). He's currently in line for a road matchup with the Tigers in his next outing.       Paul Skenes allowed one run over six innings with three strikeouts, but didn’t factor into the decision against the Giants on Thursday.

      Advice: Skenes allowed six hits and one walk. The right-hander didn’t have his best swing-and-miss stuff, and he did deal with some traffic; something he didn’t deal with at all in his six no-hit innings Friday against the Cubs. Even still, the 21-year-old was impressive again, and he now has a 2.25 ERA and a 21/4 K/BB over three starts. Next up for Skenes is a start against the Tigers on Wednesday.       Peralta (3-3) took the loss Wednesday against Miami, allowing one run on four hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Peralta was locked into a pitcher's duel with Jesus Luzardo, with a leadoff home run by Jazz Chisholm in the first inning being enough to push Peralta into the loss column. Still, fantasy managers saw the dominant version of Peralta that garnered early Cy Young consideration before his ERA ballooned from 1.90 on April 19 to 4.17 before Wednesday's outing. Through the ups and downs, Peralta's strikeout production has maintained, with 71 K's across 56.2 innings on the year.       Advice: The 24-year-old put together his fourth multi-hit performance in the last five contests as he extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Skubal also served up a solo shot to Nelson Velazquez in the fourth inning, just the fourth homer off him in 60 innings.       Freddy Peralta fired seven one-run innings on Wednesday striking out seven and walking one in a loss to the Marlins.

      Advice: Peralta’s only mistake was a 3-1 fastball to Jazz Chisholm in the first inning that wound up in the seats. Even in that at-bat Peralta missed some borderline pitches to fall behind. Still, he was fantastic Wednesday after scuffling to a 6.19 ERA May. He likely has better times ahead while his strikeout rate stays high and walk rate stays manageable.       Tarik Skubal allowed four runs over five innings on Wednesday in a loss to the Royals.

      Advice: Fantasy managers were expecting a throwback pitcher’s duel in this one, but Skubal got in trouble right away on Wednesday afternoon as Kansas City struck for a pair of runs in the second inning before Nelson Velázquez took him deep for a fourth-inning solo shot. He finished with six strikeouts and only handed out a pair of free passes. He’ll bring a stellar 2.25 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 72/10 K/BB ratio across 60 innings (10 starts) into a favorable home matchup on Tuesday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:38 pm

      Alex Bregman went 0-for-4 as the Astros’ cleanup hitter Wednesday to finish hitless in the series against the Angels.

      Advice: Bregman had three homers in two games against the A’s early last week, prompting the Astros to return him to the cleanup spot, but since then, he’s 4-for-31 with one RBI in eight games. It’s hard to imagine Bregman remaining this bad, but he’s long posted subpar BABIPs and his typically average exit velocity numbers are worse than usual right now.
