    • Goes yard in Tuesday's win
McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Rockies.

Advice: McMahon got the scoring going for the Rockies with a solo blast to right center off Dylan Cease in the fourth. It was his second home run this month and his first since May 3. He's now rocking a four-game hit streak with multiple hits in two of those while only striking out once over that span. McMahon has been one of the most consistent hitters in their lineup so far this year, slashing .308/.389/.481 with six homers, 22 RBI, 18 runs and a 22:50 BB:K in 180 plate appearances. • Hammered by Atlanta
Taillon (3-1) took the loss Tuesday, surrendering seven runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks over four innings as the Cubs fell 7-0 to Atlanta. He struck out two.

Advice: The right-hander's own fielding error in the fourth inning softened the blow to his ERA, but Taillon's final line was by no means undeserved as he served up homers to Michael Harris and Matt Olson in his last frame. It's the first time in five starts Taillon has been taken deep multiple times, and he'll take a 1.61 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 18:8 K:BB through 28 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home this weekend against the Pirates. • Fans six in no-decision
Civale came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings loss to the Red Sox, giving up three runs on five hits over five innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander kept Boston off the board his first time through the order, but a two-run double by Dominic Smith in the fourth inning and a solo shot by Ceddanne Rafaela in the fifth sent Civale packing after 76 pitches (53 strikes). He's failed to last more than five innings in any of his last five starts, a stretch in which he's stumbled to an 8.87 ERA and 1.71 WHIP, and his rotation spot could be in jeopardy if he doesn't turn things around by the time Ryan Pepiot (leg) and Shane Baz (elbow) are ready to rejoin the team. Civale lines up to make his next start on the road this weekend in Toronto. Rotowire.com Today, 12:49 am
    • Goes yard again
Seaver went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 7-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Seager took advantage of the Globe Life Field roof being open, swatting a solo home run off Ben Lively in the third inning. The shortstop has hit three home runs in his last eight games and is batting .267 with six RBI and an 11.4 percent K rate during that stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 12:24 am

    • Nails down 12th save
Clase earned the save Tuesday against Texas, allowing one walk over a scoreless inning with no strikeouts

Advice: Clase moved into a four-way tied for the second most saves in baseball with Tuesday's contest and, after leading MLB in saves the past two seasons, is firmly in the mix to do so again in 2024. The 26-year-old has yielded just one earned run and walked two batters in 21.1 innings of work. Rotowire.com Today, 12:11 am
    • Reid Detmers shaky again, gives up five runs
Reid Detmers gave up five runs — four earned — in five innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Detmers is high on the short list of the game’s most frustrating pitchers. After a very encouraging open that saw him go 3-0 with a 1.19 ERA in his first four starts, he’s 0-4 with an 8.46 ERA in his last five turns. His peripherals backed up the hot start, but they also mostly back up the huge decline since. We have no clue what’s next from him, but we’d be hesitant to give up on him in mixed leagues; his stuff really does seem to be better than it was last year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm

    • Rocked by Yankees
Paddack (4-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Yankees, allowing five runs on 12 hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Paddack couldn't get much by the Yankees on Tuesday, tying his career high in hits allowed while all nine NYY batters generated a hit. The poor showing was a surprise considering Paddack was victorious in his previous four starts -- allowing five runs across 23.1 innings with two 10-strikeout games. Paddack has allowed two or fewer runs in five of his eight starts but owns a 4.89 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP over 42.1 innings. He's lined up to face the Guardians in Cleveland on Sunday. • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. goes 0-for-4 in loss to Reds
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts against the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: Gurriel got off to a really fast start and still posted decent run and RBI numbers for a while after that concluded, but he’s been a mess lately; he’s batting just .160 with no homers and three RBI in his last 19 games. On the plus side, his strikeout rate is fine and Statcast thinks he’s been fairly unlucky to date. He figures to retain some mixed-league value going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:52 pm
    • Struggles versus Cardinals
Detmers allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals.

Advice: While he avoided a fifth straight loss, it was still a poor showing for Detmers. He's given up at least four earned runs in each of his last five outings while walking multiple batters in four of them. He kept the ball in the yard Tuesday, which was a positive, but it's not as encouraging as it could be since the Cardinals have been bereft of power this year. Detmers is at a 5.19 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 56:18 K:BB over 50.1 innings across nine starts in 2024. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Houston. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:50 pm
