    • Trea Turner homers twice in win over Cubs
Trea Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Cubs.

Advice: Turner hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead and later returned to hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5-1. The Phillies start shortstop now has five homers on the season and has hit safely in five of his last six games. Turner is slashing a solid .338/.386/.487 on the season but hasn’t offered much as far as steals are concerned, which could be chalked up to the hamstring injury he returned from a few weeks ago. • D-backs activate Gabriel Moreno for Tuesday return
Diamondbacks activated C Gabriel Moreno from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Moreno is officially back for Tuesday’s series opener against the division-rival Dodgers following a nearly two-week absence due to a left thumb sprain. Rotoworld Today, 3:38 pm

    • Activated from injured list
The Diamondbacks reinstated Moreno (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: The 24-year-old landed on the shelf with a sprained thumb June 22 and will rejoin Arizona after being on the injured list for the 10-day minimum. Moreno has a .230/.313/.346 slash line through 61 games this season and should reclaim primary catching duties for the Diamondbacks. Rotowire.com Today, 3:18 pm

    • Corey Seager (hand) able to swing a bat on Tuesday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters Tuesday that Corey Seager remains day-to-day with a left hand contusion.

Advice: Bochy added that Seager is doing better after being hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game and was able to progress to swinging a bat again. Although he’s not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Padres it certainly sounds like he has a shot at getting back into game action at some point in the coming days. • Could begin running soon
Harris (hamstring) could begin running soon, Grant McAuley of 929 The Game reports.

Advice: Harris is two-and-a-half weeks removed from suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. There is no timetable yet for his return to Atlanta's active roster, but at this point it seems likely that he'll be held out until after the All-Star break. Jarred Kelenic has shifted over to center field to cover for Harris. Rotowire.com Today, 1:55 pm

    • Josh Jung still dealing with right wrist soreness
Josh Jung is day-to-day with soreness in his surgically-repaired right wrist.

Advice: Jung told reporters Tuesday that he hasn’t swung a bat since his last minor league rehab contest back in mid-June and they’re taking things day-by-day at the moment. The 26-year-old third baseman doesn’t appear close to rejoining the Rangers’ lineup at this point and it’s unclear when he’ll be ready to return to game action. Rotoworld Today, 1:43 pm

    • Still not swinging bat
Jung (wrist) has not been cleared to swing a bat, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jung has not swung a bat since his last rehab game on June 20 and admitted Tuesday that his surgically repaired right wrist remains sore. A specialist has confirmed that nothing is structurally wrong with the wrist, but the lingering discomfort is worrisome. There's no timetable for Jung's return. Rotowire.com Today, 1:23 pm

    • Held out of Tuesday's lineup
Seager (wrist) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: The 30-year-old has had X-rays and an MRI come back negative since being struck in the left wrist by a pitch Saturday in Baltimore, but he'll still sit for the second straight game Tuesday. Josh Smith will receive another start at shortstop as Seager continues to heal up. Rotowire.com Today, 1:05 pm

    • Corey Seager (hand) out of lineup Tuesday vs. SD
Corey Seager (hand) is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Padres.

Advice: Seager could possibly be available off the bench after imaging came back negative on his left hand, but that’s not known at this time. The shortstop will take a seat to begin Tuesday’s tilt with Josh Smith getting the start at shortstop and Jonathan Ornelas at third base. For now, consider Seager day-to-day.
