    • Christopher Morel walks off the Cubs on Saturday
Christopher Morel went 1-for-3, driving in the winning run in the Cubs 1-0 win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: The Cubs and Pirates were scoreless going into the bottom of the ninth in what turned out to be a pitchers duel. Cody Bellinger reached scoring position with a one-out double off David Bednar. Morel followed with a base hit to walk it off, bringing Bellinger home for the winning run. The 24-year-old slugger is hitting .217/.300/.416 with nine homers, 32 RBI, and four steals across 190 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 1:38 pm

    • Moved to 60-day IL
The Giants transferred Lee (shoulder) to the 60-day IL on Saturday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lee will miss the remainder of the 2024 season after dislocating his left shoulder Sunday and suffering a torn labrum. He will finish his first season in the majors with a .262/.310/.331 slash line while hitting two homers and driving in eight RBI across 145 plate appearances. Ryan McKenna was claimed off waivers from Baltimore to fill Lee's spot on the 40-man roster. Rotowire.com Today, 12:43 pm

    • Giants transfer Jung Hoo Lee to 60-day IL
Giants transferred OF Jung Hoo Lee to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: The procedural move opens up a spot on San Francisco’s 40-man roster to claim outfielder Ryan McKenna off waivers from Baltimore. Lee is set to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Rotoworld Today, 12:34 pm

    • Not in lineup Saturday
Carter is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Angels.

Advice: Carter will remain on the bench for another contest Saturday, though it may be a result of the team facing left-hander Patrick Sandoval and not his back injury. Manager Bruce Bochy said Friday that the outfielder would be available off the bench versus Los Angeles and he did go 0-for-1 in the contest. Carter will look to return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale, but in the meantime, Robbie Grossman will draw the start in left field and bat sixth Saturday. Rotowire.com Today, 12:24 pm

    • Evan Carter sitting against lefty on Saturday
Evan Carter is not in the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Angels.

Advice: Carter’s exclusion from Saturday’s lineup card appears to be purely matchup driven with southpaw Patrick Sandoval on the mound for Los Angeles, but he’s out of the lineup for a seventh straight contest since last weekend recovering from a lower-back issue. The 21-year-old former top prospect should be available to pinch-hit, if needed, on Saturday night. He should return to the lineup on Sunday afternoon to face righty José Soriano. • Undergoing season-ending surgery
Lee is set to undergo season-ending surgery in the next few weeks for a torn labrum in his left shoulder, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Lee sustained the injury in the top of the first inning of Sunday's game against the Reds, when he crashed into the outfield wall while attempting to make a catch. He was placed on the 10-day IL with what was initially diagnosed as a dislocated left shoulder, but an MRI on Tuesday revealed further structural damage. Lee signed a six-year, $113 million with the Giants in December after seven seasons in the KBO, and he will end his first season in the majors having slashed .262/.310/.331 with four doubles, two home runs and eight RBI over 158 plate appearances. Luis Matos has started in center field in each game since Lee's injury, and he will reprise that role again Friday against the Rockies. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:46 pm

    • Jung Hoo Lee to undergo season-ending surgery
Jung Hoo Lee will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Advice: It had been anticipated that Lee would be sidelined for most — if not all — of the season after crashing into the center-field wall at Oracle Park over the weekend, and now it’s official. The 25-year-old finishes his first season stateside hitting .262/.310/.331 with a pair of homers, 15 runs scored, eight RBI and two stolen bases in 37 games. He should be ready to go for the start of spring training in 2025. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:35 pm

    • Evan Carter (back) available off bench on Friday
Evan Carter (back) was held out of the Rangers’ starting lineup once again on Friday night, but will be available off the bench.

Advice: The 21-year-old outfielder has been sidelined since Saturday due to stiffness in his lower back. The good news is that he’s progressing and won’t require a trip to the injured list, and likely wouldn’t have been in the starting lineup anyways on Friday with left-hander Tyler Anderson taking the ball for the Angels. Expect Carter to return to the starting lineup at some point over the weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:30 pm

    • Available off bench Friday
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that Carter (back) is available off the bench for Friday's series opener against the Angels, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Carter hasn't played since May 10 against the Rockies due to lower-back inflammation. He received a cortisone shot Monday, and while he won't be starting Friday, he could make a return to the lineup over the weekend. Carter is slashing .216/.303/.416 with six doubles, five home runs and 15 RBI over 142 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:23 pm
