    • Recalled from Triple-A
Atlanta recalled Kerr from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, Grant McAuley of 929 The Game reports.

Advice: Kerr holds a 4.50 ERA and an impressive 22:5 K:BB across 14 innings this season with Gwinnett. He will give manager Brian Snitker another left-handed bullpen option while Tyler Matzek (elbow) is sidelined. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

    • Out with elbow inflammation
Atlanta placed Matzek on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to May 5, with left elbow inflammation, Grant McAuley of 929 The Game reports.

Advice: Matzek missed the entire 2023 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery and has struggled in 2024, collecting a 9.90 ERA and 10:3 K:BB across 10 relief innings. It's not clear at this point how long he might be sidelined. Ray Kerr is up to take Matzek's spot in Atlanta's bullpen. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

    • Pops fifth homer
Gordon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: The 28-year-old outfielder took Walker Buehler deep in the top of the second inning to briefly tie the game at 3-3, but Los Angeles took the lead for good in the bottom of the frame. Gordon has gone yard in back-to-back games and is up to five homers on the year in only 32 games -- a surprisingly power display for a player whose career high is nine home runs in 138 games, set in 2022. The rest of Gordon's numbers are far less impressive, and he's slashing .212/.244/.424 with nine runs, 16 RBI and only one steal in two attempts. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Alex Wood shuts down Rangers in no-decision
Alex Wood blanked the Rangers for six innings in a no-decision Monday.

Advice: Wood didn’t quite dominate in striking out three tonight, but he lowered his ERA from 6.32 to 5.30. He has a kind matchup against the Mariners in Seattle next time out, but he’s unlikely to be much of a factor in mixed leagues going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:31 pm

    • Logs best outing of season Monday
Wood pitched six scoreless innings, allowing two runs and one walk while striking out three batters in a no-decision against Texas on Monday.

Advice: Wood tamed the Rangers' bats in his season-high six innings of work, allowing just three baserunners and keeping all of those from reaching second base. The left-hander departed in line for the win with Oakland clinging to a 2-0 lead, but the team's bullpen couldn't hold on late, saddling Wood with a no-decision. Nonetheless, this was another promising outing for the veteran hurler, who has allowed just three runs over 15.2 frames across his past three starts. His season ERA is still a poor 5.30, but that's a dramatic step forward after it sat at 7.89 over his first five starts of the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:05 pm

    • Picks up win Monday
Anderson (2-1) pitched a perfect inning and struck out two batters to earn the win Monday over the Brewers.

Advice: Anderson kept the deficit to two runs in the top of the seventh inning, and the Royals rallied ahead in their half of the frame. The right-hander allowed multiple runs in two of his first five outings of the season, but he's since posted nine consecutive scoreless innings. He's at a 2.77 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB through 13 innings overall, though that hasn't translated to many high-leverage looks for Anderson, who has added just one hold and no saves. • Starting Tuesday
Urena will start Tuesday's game against the Athletics, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Urena will make his first start of the 2024 season, though he's given the Rangers length out of the bullpen at times through the first month of the campaign. He most recently worked three frames April 27 vs. Cincinnati and three innings April 18 against Detroit. He'll likely be called upon to eat anywhere from two to four innings Tuesday if all goes according to plan. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:29 pm

    • Headed to Triple-A
The Tigers informed Meadows after Monday's game against the Guardians that he'll be optioned to Triple-A Toledo, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Advice: Meadows has seen only three at-bats in May after going 6-for-60 over 25 games in April, and Detroit has finally seen enough. Ryan Vilade is expected to be recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:30 pm
    • Report: Parker Meadows heading to AAA on Tuesday
Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Tigers are expected to option Parker Meadows to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Advice: Meadows, 24, picked up just seven hits in 73 at-bats while with the Tigers with 32 strikeouts in that timeframe. The outfielder will get work in Triple-A with Ryan Vilade expected to receive a promotion in the corresponding transaction. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:28 pm
