    • Doval locks down 8th save in win over Rockies
Camilo Doval threw a scoreless ninth inning to close out a 4-1 win over the Rockies on Sunday.

Advice: Camilo Doval didn’t allow a hit or a walk while striking out one to earn his 8th save of the season. The right-hander has a 3.00 ERA on the season with 24 strikeouts in 18 innings. He has yet to blow a save on the season, and if the Giants lineup can get healthy and start putting up some runs, he could earn some more saves in the months ahead. Rotoworld Today, 3:50 pm

    • Stuck with loss Saturday
Cano (2-2) allowed two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Mariners.

Advice: Cano allowed the first two batters to reach base in the eighth inning, giving up one run in the process. Cionel Perez also allowed an inherited runner to score, and the Orioles couldn't overcome the deficit. This is the first time Cano has given up multiple earned runs in an appearance all season, and just the second time he's given up more than one run of any kind. He's now at a 2.95 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB while adding two saves and 10 holds over 21.1 innings. The late-inning mix in Baltimore remains in flux, and Cano isn't doing himself any favors with three runs allowed over his last 1.1 innings across three appearances. • Emmanuel Clase locks down Twins for save
Emmanuel Clase worked a clean ninth inning and struck out one Twin to tie the league-lead with 13 saves.

Advice: Clase has been unhittable this season allowing just one earned run across 22 ⅓ innings. He’s changed up his approach, throwing more cutters and working outside the zone more often. It’s generating significantly more chases. He’s firmly one of the best closers in baseball. Rotoworld Friday, 8:46 pm

    • Locks up 13th save
Clase picked up the save Friday against Minnesota. He pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Advice: Clase required only 13 pitches to retire the side in order. The 26-year-old is riding a streak of eight straight scoreless appearances, allowing just one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts and five saves over eight innings. Clase remains among the game's elite closers, sporting a 0.42 ERA over 22.1 innings this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:42 pm

    • Fans two for seventh save
Doval earned the save over the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one hit and one walk over one inning while striking out two.

Advice: Doval entered the game with a three-run lead in the ninth and quickly retired the first two batters on strikes before walking Mookie Betts and surrendering a single to Shohei Ohtani. However, the right-hander was able to get Freddie Freeman to ground out for the final out and notch his seventh save in as many chances. Doval has also recorded two strikeouts in three straight appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:24 am

    • Camilo Doval secures seventh save vs. Dodgers
Camilo Doval struck out two batters in a scoreless ninth inning for the save against the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Doval was summoned to close out the game with a three-run lead in the ninth. He struck out the first two batters, then walked Mookie Betts before giving up a base hit to Shohei Ohtani. Freddie Freeman grounded out to second base to end the game. Doval is up to seven saves with a 3.18 ERA and 23 strikeouts across 17 innings. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:14 pm

    • Nails down 12th save
Clase earned the save Tuesday against Texas, allowing one walk over a scoreless inning with no strikeouts

Advice: Clase moved into a four-way tied for the second most saves in baseball with Tuesday's contest and, after leading MLB in saves the past two seasons, is firmly in the mix to do so again in 2024. The 26-year-old has yielded just one earned run and walked two batters in 21.1 innings of work. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:11 am

    • Notches second save
Cano gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his second save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Craig Kimbrel worked the seventh inning and faced the bottom of the Arizona order, a strong sign that at least for the moment, manager Brandon Hyde is focused on building the veteran closer's confidence back up rather than throwing him into the fire in the ninth. Due to Kimbrel's recent struggles, Cano has picked up both his 2024 saves in his last three appearances, but Jacob Webb and Danny Coulombe have also collected saves in the last couple weeks, although the former's came in the 12th inning. Even if the O's turn to a committee to protect leads at the end of games, Cano figures to see the majority of save chances until Kimbrel proves he's ready to resume his usual role. • Yennier Cano records second save versus D-backs
Yennier Cano got his second save Friday after working a scoreless ninth versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Orioles are giving Craig Kimbrel a break, so Cano is the clear favorite for saves in the pen for the short term. If Kimbrel has any meltdowns in the near future, Cano might take on the closer’s role permanently. Rotoworld Friday, 8:32 pm
