    • Claims another save
Neris picked up the save Thursday against Houston, allowing two walks and no hits over a scoreless inning. He didn't log a strikeout.

Advice: Neris converted on his third save of the last five days and appears to have a firm hold on the Cubs' closing job, replacing Adbert Alzolay. However, Neris's walk issues persisted, handing out two free passes to bring his season total to nine in nine innings. His lack of control has been uncharacteristic, as Neris combined for just 48 walks in 141 appearances during two seasons with the Astros. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:20 pm
    • Héctor Neris collects third SV of season Thursday
Héctor Neris fired a scoreless ninth to pick up a save Thursday against the Astros.

Advice: Neris did make things interesting, as he walked a pair of hitters to put the go-ahead run at the plate. Ultimately the 34-year-old was able to get the job done, and he now has three saves on the season after not opening the year in the closing role. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:09 pm
    • Framber Valdez to start Sunday in Mexico City
Framber Valdez (elbow) will start on Sunday against the Rockies in Mexico City.

Advice: Astros manager Joe Espada confirmed Thursday that Valdez will return this weekend after spending just over two weeks on the shelf with left elbow inflammation. The 30-year-old southpaw completed a 40-pitch bullpen session earlier this week and figures to have some workload limitations this weekend in Mexico City’s extremely hitter-friendly high-altitude environment. His return will provide Houston’s injury-depleted starting rotation with a significant lift, but he’s probably best left on the bench this weekend for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:33 pm
    • Starting Sunday in Mexico City
Astros manager Joe Espada said that Valdez (elbow) will return from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday's game against the Rockies in Mexico City, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Valdez has been on the IL since April 9 due to inflammation in his left elbow. He built up to 40 pitches in his last bullpen session Wednesday, so his first start back from the injured list will likely be an abbreviated one. In any case, his return will still give Houston's rotation a much-needed boost following the recent move of Cristian Javier (neck) to the IL. Valdez surrendered three earned runs and struck out 10 batters over 12.1 innings across his first two starts before getting injured. Given Valdez's expected workload restriction Sunday in addition to the high altitude in Mexico City likely creating a hitter-friendly environment, fantasy managers may want to hold off on immediately activating the southpaw. • Ends homer drought
Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Arozarena went deep in his first plate appearance of the game, snapping a 19-start homeless drought. He struck out in his remaining three at-bats and has now punched out three times in three of his last five contests. Arozarena has gotten off to a poor start to the season, highlighted by a .158 average and a 29.1 percent strikeout rate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:53 am
    • Homers in loss
Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Reynolds got the Pirates on the board in the third inning with a two-run shot off Bryse Wilson, Pittsburgh's only two runs in the eventual defeat. It's the third homer of the year for Reynolds and his first extra-base hit in 13 games. The switch-hitting outfielder is now slashing .263/.386/.411 with 15 RBI, nine runs scored and a pair of stolen bases through 25 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:14 am
    • Works two frames for hold
Adam struck out two across two scoreless innings without allowing a baserunner to earn a hold Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Adam was the presumed closer with Pete Fairbanks (arm) sidelined, but he instead was used in the highest-leverage spot. He entered the game in the seventh inning to face the top of the Tigers' order and protect a two-run lead. Adam was very effective and picked up his seventh hold of the campaign, but Garrett Cleavinger was ultimately the reliever to pick up the save. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:57 am

    • Contributes solo shot
Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Altuve launched a solo blast off closer Hector Neris in the ninth inning to bring the Astros to within a run, but the team ultimately fell short. The long ball was Altuve's sixth of the season, though he has only eight RBI. The star second baseman is otherwise having a fantastic campaign, slashing .350/.412/.602 with 17 runs and three stolen bases. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:15 pm

    • Spencer Turnbull strong for five in no-decision
Spencer Turnbull turned in five innings of one-run ball and struck out eight Wednesday against the Reds.

Advice: It was another sterling effort from Turnbull, but since Taijuan Walker is back, it might have been his final start for a while. The Phillies just aren’t prepared to make a change there, even though Turnbull has a 1.33 ERA in five starts. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:57 pm
