      Freddie Freeman hit a solo homer in a victory Monday over the Marlins.

      Advice: Freeman went back-to-back with Shohei Ohtani, and his solo blast gave the Dodgers a 3-2 lead. The 34-year-old hasn’t shown a ton of pop in the early portion of the year, as it’s just the third homer for the veteran first baseman in 2024.     • Hurls fourth straight quality start
      Gibson allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out four batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Monday.

      Advice: Gibson yielded a run in the first inning Monday, but he didn't allow the Mets to score again until they put up two runs against him in the fifth frame. The veteran hurler completed one more scoreless inning after that to record his seventh straight outing of at least six frames to begin the campaign. Gibson's ability to eat up innings didn't correlate with success early in the season -- he gave up 13 runs across his first 19 frames -- but he's turned things around admirably since, posting four consecutive quality starts during which he's allowed just five earned runs across 25 innings. The right-hander has thus lowered his ERA to 3.68 and become at least a semi-viable fantasy target for managers in need of starting pitching despite his tepid 33:16 K:BB across 44 frames.       Kyle Gibson was charged with three runs (two earned) over six innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Mets.

      Advice: Gibson took the ball for Monday’s series opener against the Mets and pitched reasonably well, allowing two earned runs or fewer for the fourth consecutive outing since April 19. He notched four strikeouts and only handed out a pair of free passes in this one.       Advice: Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters that this was likely the final step before Yelich can return to the lineup.       Advice: It's the first time Yelich has hit on the field since he went on the injured list three weeks ago with a lower-back strain. Brewers manager Pat Murphy had indicated previously that it would likely be the final step before Yelich returns to action, although it's not clear whether he might need to go out on a rehab assignment first.       Fried (2-1) took the loss Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over seven innings.

      Advice: Fried quickly surrendered a two-run homer to Shohei Ohtani in the opening frame. He was able to settle in thereafter, blanking the Dodgers over the next four innings before Teoscar Hernandez got a hold of one in the sixth to make it a 4-0 ballgame. Sunday was Fried's first outing this year giving up multiple home runs, but he's also gone at least six innings in three straight while striking out at least six in all three appearances.       Webb (3-3) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out six over four innings.

      Advice: The Phillies scratched out a run versus Webb in the second before plating four more in the third, which was highlighted by Bryce Harper's three-run blast. Webb faced some more traffic in the fourth but ultimately got out of it unscathed with his day ending there after throwing 98 pitches. Following a dominant stretch of four consecutive outings allowing two runs or fewer and pitching at least seven innings, Webb has now given up four runs in back-to-back starts while failing to get more than 12 outs. The one positive note was that his six strikeouts set a season high.
