    • Closes out Friday's game
Diaz walked one and struck out two in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Diaz had given up five runs over 1.1 innings across his last two outings, which came in non-save situations. This was his first save since April 27, and he's now 7-for-8 in save chances this season. A couple of implosions have wreaked havoc on Diaz's ratios -- he's at a 6.08 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB through 13.1 innings, but he's been scored upon in four of his 14 appearances. His walk rate is high, but it hasn't cost him the closer job yet. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:01 pm
    • Blows save, takes loss
Estevez (0-2) blew the save and took the loss Friday against Kansas City. He allowed two runs on three hits and no walks with one strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Estevez allowed a lead-taking, two-run homer to Adam Frazier in the ninth inning to blow his third save on the year. Oddly, the Angels closer has yet to walk a batter this season, but he has allowed three homers over 11.2 innings, leading to a 6.17 ERA. Despite the ugly ERA, Estevez remains securely planted in the Angels closer seat. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:56 pm
    • Díaz picks up seventh save against Giants
Alexis Díaz hurled a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Díaz did allow a walk, but he didn’t give up a hit while striking out two, and lowered his ERA to 6.08 in the process. That ERA is less-than-ideal, but keep in mind that it’s mostly from some early scuffles. Díaz should be a fine closing option for the remainder of 2024. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:49 pm
    • Carlos Estévez blows save, takes loss vs. Royals
Carlos Estévez allowed two runs in an inning of work while blowing a save Friday against the Royals and also picking up a loss.

Advice: This is already the third blown save of the season for the right-hander. He gave up a two-run homer to Adam Frazier of all people, and that turned a 1-0 lead for the Angels into a 2-1 score and ultimately a loss. Estévez is going to get the overwhelming majority of save chances for the Angels, but he’s a middling option at best with just so-so results and a very bad baseball team to give him those chances. • Notches 10th save
Iglesias allowed a run on a hit and a walk over one inning Friday. He earned a save over the Mets.

Advice: Iglesias coughed up an RBI single to Pete Alonso with two outs in the ninth but was able to close out the 4-2 victory. Iglesias has now converted 10 of his 12 save chances this year while posting a 10:4 K:BB through 15.1 innings. Friday was the first time he allowed an earned run since April 24 and he still owns a strong 2.25 ERA. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:30 pm
    • Raisel Iglesias earns shaky save over Mets
Raisel Iglesias closed out the Mets for his 10th save of the season Friday despite allowing an earned run.

Advice: Results wise, Iglesias has been great this season with a 2.35 ERA. There’s some fear of regression though with a paltry 16.1 K%, by far the lowest of his career. A.J. Minter has faltered out of the gate, so Iglesias still likely has a firm hold on Atlanta’s closer role. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:48 pm
    • Jhoan Duran gets hold against Blue Jays
Jhoan Duran pitched a hitless eighth against the Blue Jays for his third hold Friday.

Advice: Everything seemed great when Duran notched saves in his first two appearances back from the IL, but he’s been asked to pitch the eighth in three of four outings since. It’s strictly a leverage thing, but it’s annoying for us fantasy leaguers. Duran has been practically perfect since being activated, allowing a total of two hits in six scoreless innings. • Goes deep Wednesday
Mountcastle went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Mountcastle is hitting .226 (7-for-31) over seven games in May, but four of those hits have gone for extra bases. He gave the Orioles a brief lead in the 11th inning of Wednesday's contest. The first baseman is slashing .277/.324/.485 with six long balls, 18 RBI, 20 runs scored, nine doubles and two stolen bases over 142 plate appearances. Mountcastle continues to hit well from the heart of the order in an everyday role. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:17 am
    • Locks down third save
Duran earned the save in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out one.

Advice: Duran entered the game with a 6-3 lead in the top of the ninth and needed nine pitches to record the first out. The right-handed reliever then managed to work his way back from a 3-0 count to retire Jorge Polanco on strikes for the final out of the game. It marked Duran's third save of the season, and he's now pitched a perfect inning in back-to-back appearances. He's also yet to walk a batter or allow a run across five innings.
