    • Quality start in loss
Webb (3-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings to take the loss versus the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Webb has walked multiple batters in three straight starts, but he was at least able to pitch deeper in this contest after failing to get past the fourth inning in either of his last two outings. It's still an uncharacteristic rough patch for the Giants' ace. He's sports a 3.38 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB through 53.1 innings across nine starts this season. Webb's projected for a tough home matchup with the Dodgers in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:11 pm

    • Logan Webb works seven, allows two in loss to Reds
Logan Webb gave up three runs — two earned — while working seven innings in a loss Friday to the Reds.

Advice: Webb was much better than his middling start Sunday against the Phillies, but unfortunately it does result in another loss for the 27-year-old. The right-hander gave up eight hits with two walks, and he struck out six. A solid effort, and it lowers his ERA to 3.38 on the season. The Dodgers come next for Webb. • Lasts 4.1 innings vs. Pittsburgh
Assad didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Pirates, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: After the Pirates scored twice in the first inning, Assad delivered 3.1 scoreless frames before he was ultimately pulled after 89 pitches (53 strikes). The 26-year-old hasn't allowed more than one earned run in five straight starts, and he's 3-0 with a 1.70 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB across 42.1 innings this season. The Mexican-born right-hander is currently slated for a road matchup with Atlanta in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:04 pm

    • Javier Assad lifted in fifth against Pirates
Javier Assad was lifted after allowing two runs — one earned — in 4 1/3 innings Friday against the Pirates.

Advice: Assad was pulled from a 2-2 game after giving up a single with one out in the fifth. He pitched rather well tonight in striking out four and giving up four hard-hit balls and four hits, but his pitch count was driven up by some long at-bats. While his ERA stands at 1.70, he’s completed six innings just twice. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:47 pm

    • Guardians transfer Gavin Williams to 60-day IL
Guardians transferred RHP Gavin Williams to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Nothing has changed with Williams from a return timetable standpoint as the procedural move merely clears up a spot on Cleveland’s 40-man roster for newly-acquired reliever Darren McCaughan. The 24-year-old righty has been on the shelf since spring training due to right elbow inflammation, but was able to resume a throwing program last week following a brief setback. There’s a chance he’s ready to return at some point next month. Rotoworld Thursday, 11:53 am

    • Shifted to 60-day IL
The Guardians transferred Williams (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: The move clears a spot on the team's 40-man roster for the addition of Darren McCaughan. Williams resumed a throwing program a week ago after a brief shutdown period following a setback with his right elbow. It was going to take him a while to get ramped back up anyway, though, so this transaction shouldn't alter his timetable. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:43 am

    • Earns win Wednesday
Clase (2-1) earned the extra-inning win Wednesday over the Tigers, striking out one without allowing a hit or a walk in a scoreless inning.

Advice: Clase was sharp in the 10th inning despite a fielder's choice and a wild pitch, and the Guardians completed their comeback on a walk-off Brayan Rocchio single in the bottom of the frame. This outing extended Clase's scoreless streak to five innings, and he's gone 12.1 innings without giving up an earned run. The closer is 11-for-13 in save chances while pitching to a 0.47 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 20:1 K:BB through 19.1 innings on the year. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:01 am
    • Suffers loss Wednesday
Lange (0-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit to take the loss in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning contest against the Guardians.

Advice: After recording the final out of the ninth inning, Lange had the unenviable task of pitching the bottom of the 10th in a tie game with a runner starting on second base. The righty retired the first batter but then allowed a walk-off hit to Brayan Rocchio. There shouldn't be too much read into the loss, and Lange has pitched well all season, as he's sitting with a stellar 0.64 ERA across 14 innings. Lange should continue to see high-leverage work for the Tigers moving forward, and he could slide back into the closer role at some point if he keeps up the strong play. • Gets back in win column
Singer (3-1) earned the win Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Singer tallied his first win in five starts, yielding one run for a third consecutive outing. He settled in nicely after allowing doubles to the first two batters he faced, keeping the Brewers off the scoreboard following the first frame. Singer has allowed more than two runs in just one start this season and owns a 2.36 ERA with 46 strikeouts across 45.2 innings. He's lined up for a start in Seattle on Monday.
