He's slashing .352/.485/.629 with eight homers, 27 RBI, 27 runs scored and four stolen bases over 40 games this season. Fry offers a right-handed option at multiple positions, though he's unlikely to be needed in left field as much with Steven Kwan back from a hamstring injury.       Advice: Despite generating 16 whiffs out of his 98 total pitches, Cease managed to strike out only five, tying a season-low also reached on May 20 against Atlanta and April 27 against Philadelphia. The Padres ace was cruising through five innings, allowing just two baserunners; however, he unraveled in a 25-pitch sixth inning, allowing four baserunners and departing with just one out.       Advice: Suarez entered to collect the last out in a bases-loaded jam with a five-run lead. After yielding a two-RBI single to Freddy Fermin, the San Diego closer induced a Nelson Velazquez flyout to secure the win. Suarez is now tied with Emmanuel Clase for second in the majors with 17 saves, trailing Ryan Helsley by one. The southpaw isn't a usual part of the high-leverage mix, but he's filled in there on occasion in 2024.       Wacha was wearing a walking boot on his left foot following Friday's loss to the Padres, Pete Grathoff of The Kansas City Star reports.

      Advice: Wacha took a 90-mph line drive off his left foot during the first at-bat of Friday's contest. He was able to remain in the game and pitch 5.1 innings of two-run ball while logging two strikeouts, but it definitely seems like his shot to the foot bothered him. The 32-year-old right-hander said after the game that he will undergo imaging Saturday, at which point he and the Royals will have a better idea of how severe the damage is.       William Contreras picked up three hits and drove in a run in a win Friday over the White Sox.

      Advice: Contreras, 26, also scored twice. The Brewers were able to reach 23 times via hit and six times on walks, and somewhat amazingly none of those hits went over the fence.       Paul DeJong went 2-for-4 with a homer in a loss Friday to the Brewers.

      Advice: DeJong also doubled. The shortstop has homered eight times while driving in 18 runs with a .426 slugging mark.       Advice: Felich reached five times Friday, and he also drove in a run. The 24-year-old has swung the bat well as of late, and this makes seven hits over his last five games to see his average rise to .266 from .242 in the process.       Christian Yelich went 5-for-6, drove in five runs and stole a base in a 12-5 win over the White Sox on Friday.

      Advice: The Brew Crew were able to pick up 23 hits and six walks against the overmatched White Sox. Yelich was responsible for nearly a quarter of those, and two of them were double, giving him six on the season.
